Some of you may have allready known this, but I just found out after I purchased the J LO 914, the yellow one with the big rear end. The battery in the car is an Optima and it came with an Optima hold down "puck". I checked there website and found that what I have is a Group 78 Adapter for GM products. I emailed Optima and they asked for an address and sent me one,FREE.
It fits perfectly and it won't rust or coirode since it is made of a plastic type material.
Free is a very good price..

Oo! Oo! I want one! D'ya think GI Joes or other FLAPS that sell Optima product have 'em? I think I'll look tonight on my evening 914 drive....
Go to optimabatteries.com and look for the "contact us" click on and tell them you want a GM group 78 "puck" adapter. I emaiiled them on Tuesday and received the puck today. FREE.. You could try Joes or Baxters.

when dried up, this should go "Classic"!
hmmm, i just used the stock battery holder.
worked fine on my optima.
what's the problem for you with the stock (metal) holder????
Andy
excellent work craig. hope i get mine before they start charging for them. andy, it fits around one the cells quite nicely, good grip.
kevin
Andy, unless you radius the inside of the hold down it digs into the round cells. Not a good thing. If you do that little mod it works fine. I wonder if Tech will pass a plastic hold down?
Geoff
The stock holder just never seemed to fit quite right, and or to my liking. So when I saw this I said, Voila that is it old man.
So I set about, spreading the word across the land, hither ,thither and yon. Let it be known that there is a hold down for the Optima battery that is floating around in your 914, brothers and sisters.
