The new gauges came in today. Woohoo!
Palo Alto Speedo did a really nice job. Here is what was done...
Speedo rebuilt (new gears for tripometer and odometer). Indicator needle painted yellow and center needle converted to silver button style.
Tachomater - Original six gauge was converted to accept signal from electronic ignition. Range changed to 10,000 RPM max with 7200 redline. Silver center, yellow indicator, and silver bezel.
Triple combo gauge custom built to match the other two gauges.
This set of gauges will sit behind my Momo wheel...

Sitting in a chair going Vroom Vroom?

Niiiiiiiice job!
How was the instrument panel done? With matte black wrinkle finish? I am considering doing that as well.
damn karl. those look sweet. that would mak a nice desk clock. very nice. vroom
Yes... the yellow needles were my choice. They are more visible than in the picture (bad lighting).
I am going with the whole black yellow and silver "theme" for the car...
4 miles were done like this...

I think you have me confused with a mofo...
or at least a crazy mofo... which I do not deny...
Karl, can you answer my question please?
Anton... boy are we pushy! Just kdding...
The gauge panel was from my '75 car. In '75 and '76 had a plastic background which was wrinkly.
If you want a wrinkle paint... buy some VHT Wrinkle Finish paint. It's a high temperature paint (for engines) that dries to a crinkle finish.
Or I am probably going to sell my plastic panel as I have a metal one too.
Karl
Thanks, Karl.
I will try to get a hold of a '75 panel first. Didn't know there was a difference between the years.
Doing the nightshift (01.39 AM) can make one's perspective a bit blurry... And a bit pushy perhaps.
Karl Are the gauge rings painted silver or did they add the aluminum gauge rings?? TIA
CCLINGAUGEVILLE
are you going to turn the tach so the redline is straight up?
Karl - love the baby highchair and animal food bins in the background. See, we CAN have our cars and family/pets, too!
