The guy at the local VW parts place was really cool and practically gave me a set of old stock german intake valves for my 1.7
I was so shocked i about dropped my slurpee.
We chatted for about 5 minutes about heads and he pulled from under the counter and said merry Xmas.
schweet!

Well,
this is what i've got so far.
4 TRW intake valves
2 TRW exhuast and 2 No name
springs and caps and chromoly pushrods I just ordered from jake
new german retaining clips
modified rocker assemblies
and a set of heads i'm putting up on ebay.
Was going to use these ones I had resurfaced at Rimco, but after speaking with a machine shop decided i would rather use a set of sweet/perfect cores they had lying there rather than the ones i just had resurfaced. Mine had already been rebuilt once before i got them, while these other cores look never touched. Told me that we could CC the cylinders and cut the virgin heads to get the compression i wanted.
Any suggestions on a good compression ratio for a 1.7?
I'm also trying to pick up this other motor to put in the car while the work is being done.
Then i think the swivel feet might be worked out.
