914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Valve covers replacement

I've seen replacement valve covers in one of the catalogues, they are aluminium. Anyone ever put these on with good results, they certainly look nicer.

Hi Ian

You can get them everywhere, but I don't know if they have issues on a stock to semi-stock motor. I think on the big HP motors they create a hotspot...I donno

Hows that for an absolutely useless reply? blink.gif

I like em

I think the bolt-on ones suck. They leak, and they put extra stress on an area that is not exactly overengineered to start with (i.e., the rocker shaft retaining studs).

Yet more parts that deserve the "float test".

I remember now I had heard they leak, they do look nice but I think the powder coating suggestion may be the way to go. Thanks to all who replied.
