not only are those exactly the flares the first GT prototype had, in this brochure, porsche offers them as a "factory option" for the 914-6 !!!
and here's a picture of the GT prototype car ...

Those flares are alot different... More like smooth gt flares....

Those pictures in Andys post are also in 914 FIA Homolog. papers. My current rears looks quite same

Mika, if you look at the upper part of Andys JPGs you'll see that these are the 914 FIA Homolog. papers

check out the lic.plate - you can find it on every 2nd of the early german mag ads and on various cars in sales brochures ...

just got another pic - it's at a presentation at the "Hockenheimring" (Germany) raceway in 1969

Good catch on the passenger head rest.
I think that the driver had a racing seat on his side.
And ye sit does have door handles, it's just hard to see since they seem to be painted flat black.
