anyone have an outside measurement, side to side of the 914? '74 specifically if they're different.

If you put it on Jackstands you can put stuff underneath it too.
I put the Stripper on rolling boxes 24" tall. I can stash lots of stuff underneath it.

oh, sure, I COULLLLLD do a search for topics.. but, well, then I wouldn't have the opportunity for freindly banter that newbs so strongly desire, need, want, require... you get the point, I'm sure.
