Do any of you SoCal 914Club members have any hospitality left?
Last Saturday you hosted dinner at Hooters for a guest from Finland.
On Wednesday you are welcoming another visitor at the Stonefire Grill.
Who wants to join me for dinner on Saturday, November 5th?
I will be doing a quick run to El Monte to pick up a trailer.
I would enjoy dinner with some 914 friends before I head back to Vegas.
Somebody pick a time and place (not to far from I-10 and the 605) and I will adjust my plans accordingly.

Some if us are going to Willow this weekend for POC Short Track. Staying at Inn of Lancaster 11/5. Take long way home, come by track or hotel for free meal

Any place between the intersection of I-10 / I-15 in Ontario and El Monte....there are several "safe" restaurants around the Haven Ave exit (Ontario Airport)...Stu Anderson's, El Torito, Marie Calendars.....and then there is always the Ontario Mills Restaurants.......
Of course my favorite is Juan's Tacoria and Gun Shop on Garvey in El Monte.....sign outside says, "Breakfast, Lunch and Murder"

I really don't want to make a long day on the road that much longer and drive to Lancaster. Besides, I get frustrated hanging out with track junkies when I am not out playing with them.
Can somebody please pick a place on this map.
I looked at the Members Map and it is loaded with icons.

Ah shit....just call it at Stuart Anderson's at Haven Ave and I-10. If no one wants carne, go to El Torito next door. I am sure they have built more in that area anyway.

Wimp, wussy....I drive from Big Bear which is a hell of a lot farther than the OC.........
I knew those OC types would bail when they had to drive over 10 miles from home.

Nah it's not that. I'm meeting with some people in that area (10 & 605) and thought I'd get away for dinner but Ontario is more than a few minutes off.

, there are places closer to the 605.

Well, since we don't have Kevlar vests or bullet proof glass....I would recommend Haven Ave one. Albert told me last night he didn't want to hang with us anyway...You notice that he & Matt arrived after we all had ate and were ready to leave.
So where are the rest of the OC weenies? ...... We IE people go south, you weenies could attempt to drive north assuming that you have the intelligence to determine which direction that is from your whine and cheese palaces.
Of course, then there are those that live in the northern end of the valley that won't associate with anyone besides Ferrari and Viper drivers...you know who you are

You all have fun! I would have liked to see Vegas Racer again. SoCal teeners are a great group of people. I look forward to seeing you all again. Toast, we missed you on Wednesday, but I am sure we will run into each other again soon. I am glad you got your car fixed at RRC!
What are the names of the young lady and her boyfriend that showed up on Wednesday? They will make a great addition to our group.

I have done 3 in the past 3 days.
(watsonrx13 at work, Felix and Steve at Hooters and tonight in SoCal)
It was great to see everyone for dinner at El Torito.

The first part of the drive home was a bitch. Halfway up the ramp from I-10 to I-15 traffic came to a stop. The fastest I went for the next hour was when I could take my foot off the brake and creep forward another 10 feet. I went less than 2 miles in the next hour. Finally the jam broke and traffic started moving. Must have been a really bad wreck somewhere up ahead. I never saw any evidence of what the problem had been.

Not that dinner with Toast (and the rest of the gang) would not have been worth the 500+ mile drive, the real reason for my trip was to pick up a new (to me) trailer. It is exactly 914 size.
The good: Less than half the weight of my previous trailer, 10 foot loading ramps (my favorite part), dropped axel, metal not wood deck, 5 lug 15" wheels (not the right bolt pattern for Fuchs), freshly repacked bearings, tool box, winch and gas cans, plus all the electric works.
The bad: Surface rust on the longs, front trunk is nothing more than 2 big holes, the battery tray and hell hole are completely gone, floor is swiss cheese with holes. If all that was not bad enough - one of the tail lights is cracked. Good news. A replacement at FLAPS is less than 2 bucks.
