So, my brother was wondering a few things about the car. He asked me to take some pictures, and I agreed. Not for him of course, but to up my post count.
We have this mysterious wire, and we don't know what it's for and where it goes--any ideas? Notice that it's coming from the hole on the left (there are two holes). It could be an air conditioning wire of some sort, but we took out the air conditioning (just an idea, eh?)
As for this one, we know it's a ground wire of some sort, but don't know what to do with it. I pointed out in red the cable bunch that it came from.
Shaggy was wondering, "Is this clean enough?" Something about gaskets, I presume.
the first looks like a AC leftover as those two holes near the battery tray are *not* factory ...
does it have 12V on it? where does it go from there, once through the fender ...

Negative ground.
Thanks Mark, one of the few questions he has that I actually KNOW the answer to.
John
Success! Alright Shaggy!
Well, mostly, the car stalled a couple of blocks from home, gas, perhaps a clamp that did not get tightened.
No fire, no harm, no foul....
He and Tettster are pushing it home now.
The idle is high 2,000 rpm, perhaps a vacuum leak.
Well, he is a long way from where he was.
He should make the Christmas Dance at his school this Saturday night, with a little luck.
John
Way to go Jim (Shaggy)

Will do Britt, John P.S. Bring it back yourself Britt over Christmas break. My pal Tom will be here from 29 Dec till 7 Jan. You can help us get the red car going, (see Tettster's blog for photos). You could sleep under the billiard table! I'm just kidding, for guests, we kick Teddy out of his room and make HIM sleep under the billiard table! |

You know you're loved when...
Just kidding! I would gladly sacrifice my room for you over the break, Britt! QUOTE It would be fun to go over to AZ....30F here, 85F in AZ
Hmm, it seems absolutely freezing over here. Pretty much anything below 90F is cold to me.
Born&Raised in Arizona--what can I say?
i've slept in the 914 before...and ANYTHING is better than sleeping in a cold 914.
You could stick me in the cupboard and if i fit (im not the thinnest person ever) i'll be good.
