ok, we're ON for tomorrow ...
i'm going to meet with bill at his place around 1:30pm ish to load up some stuff and then we're going to head over to JW to pick up the engine ...
so, if anyone wants to swing by at JW around 2:15/2:30 to help load/unload, that would be great ...
i'll buy dinner and beers!
Andy
I was just thinking about this.
See you tomorrow. My shoulder is ever feeling a little bit better.

just called 'ya but you must have been busy "massaging" your shoulder ... see 'ya tomorrow ... Andy |
The 3.6 is on a pallet strapped down. JWE has a forklift. It shouldn't be too much trouble loading....it's the unloading by "hand" that's going to be a bit tougher.

Actually it shouldn't be too bad. It's always easier to lower than to lift. Have a furniture dolly (or two) handy to lower the palette on and you should be good. Or use a solid core door as a ramp like Mueller and I did for the Subaru engine.
And all this advice comes from someone who won't be there to help, so guess what it's worth.
alright, i got a pickup truck (brand new dodge ram), that should do the trick.
most of the day will be spent sitting in the bay area parking lot they call "Freeway" ...
i'll be at JW around 2pm ...

I'd like to help but my back hurts and I'm way down here in Orange County and I'd just get in the way anyway. Is the 3.6 going in the red car?

Bill Pickering's new race car is a tail dragger?
Hey Dave,
I didn't see you snapping away there. The oil cooler setup looks bigger than I thought!
Having a forklift sure made it alot easier getting the motor up....
Bill P.
Hi Gwen,
I've gone to the "dark side"......
Should be fun dicing with the 914Club crowd on the NorCal tracks!

congrats Andy...
very very nice!

Sorry to "out" Bill on the board here--I didn't realize the tail-dragging nature of his new racer was still a secret!!
Gwen, I didn't spot the G-Teener there. But I didn't stay long.

Hey Dave,
You didn't out me....we had other threads on me becoming a tail dragging SOB....
Actually, I'm still a full fledged 914Club member...I'm getting ready to hit JLO really hard and get the V8 in and my 914-6 aka...The Beast...is being built by Scott Yeaman as we speak...
The 911 will be for the 2006 season. If The Beast is done before the end of next year, it may make an appearance.
