914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Stainless Steel Brake lines

Posted by: 514727625 Dec 16 2005, 07:57 AM

Anyone know of a good source for stainless steel brake lines? I am not talking about the flexible braided ones, but stainless replacements for the rigid steel lines that run from the master cylinder to the 4 corners of the car. Is stainless even recommended?
I know flaring the stainless takes special tooling due to it's hardness and lack of ductility. Any help would be appreciated.

I just bought some pre-fab lines from Autozone. The come straight, already flared and connectored, then you simply bend them to fit.

Take an old one with you and make sure get Euro lines as the flares are different. Cost about $2 each.
