Made this drawing, and gave it to me for Christmas.

The man was Boris Vian, French engineer, jazz trumpet player, poet, novelist, lover of America and all-around cool cat. He was born in 1920, was a "swing kid" in Paris during the war, which brought him all kinds of trouble, and died in 1959 from a heart condition.

His novels acquired cult status, but only after his death.

He is one of the men I admire the most.

My daughter did this between studying for chemistry, biology and math exams. She shows signs of being multi-talented as well !
