They are NLA- To my knowledge no one has them new.

I sell used ones in good condition for 50.00 if you can't find a new one.

smilie_pokal.gif Yep! Mid America 1800-500-1500 said that they had one and would ship it via Fed Ex. $79.00 plus shipping!

thanks
it's funny that Automobile Atlanta seems to be so expensive as well as snobby on the phone and They didn't have it! Ha! finger.gif

I'll almost guarantee you that the T-stat you get is a modified TI thermostat, not a TIV unit. The two have different expansion properties and allow for different engine temps to fully open.

This is being done by many people and it's purely incorrect- also the T stats that are being used for this are pretty junky units, a customer had one last 3 days, his second lasted a week and the third came out of the box already broken..

thanks guys

the one I was sent was indeed the vw one and I just had to unscrew the brass fitting at the end and feed the cable through it. Slightly different properties though I think that it should work o.k. and we'll all start seeing this as an option since the oem ones seem to be NLA!

thanks to all, Pete
