914World.com _ 914World Garage _ What fuchs to put under GT-flared 914?

Posted by: MarkRobinson Jan 6 2006, 08:50 AM

I've always wondered. Once I have my 914 I plan to flare it correctly, but what year Fuchs does everyone go with for maximum width w/o rubbing & looking correct as well?

Thanks!

Everybody wants 9" for the back. Very few have 'em. $ $ $ $
Most are happy with 7's & 8's. Wider is better.

I think the 16 inchers look best. 15 is to small and 17 is to big for a flared 914.

I would disagree that 17 is to big. The 17X40 rear tire is so close dimensionally to the 16X45 tire that the only difference is it will rotate 6 more times over a 1 mile distance! Plus 16" rubber is getting harder to get all the time.

Here are my wheels for my GT project fr 17X8 rr 17X9 HRE311
