914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rotating track tires

My Kumho 710's have "outside" and "inside" marked sidewalls.
Can these be mounted opposite to maximize wear or is it dangerous, somehow.

The inside shoulders have no wear, while the outsides have evidence of wear and rollover.

Thanks

According to specs for the 710s, the inside and outside tread compounds as well as the construction are different. Doubt they were built to be run inside out.
Not to mention the tread pattern is asymmetrical.
How much camber do you have in the front?
How many track miles do you have on those tires.
Seems to me they should be doing better?

I am probably going to run Yoko A032Rs to start the season. That way if it is raining when we go to sears, I will be ready without having to resort to street tires.
I know they are not as grippy as the 710s and hoosiers but I plan on making up the differnce with driving wink.gif laugh.gif
Not to mention they are on close out at Tirerack.
I have used them before on my 914-6 and my 944 Turbo track cars.

They are noisy but with the exhaust I am running I doubt I will hear them anyway ohmy.gif
You had some yokos, did you run the soft or hard compound? unsure.gif

I think the front is set at -1.6 degrees.

The tires are still in very good shape, don't get me wrong.

6 track days and 2 a/x's. All the wear bars and wear dimples are clearly visible.

I have not rotated them side to side or front to back.

Thanks,

The Yok's are very nice. Only 1 second slower than Hoosiers at a 45 second a/x course.

I ran the softs.

I'll be buying a pair of 205 A048's for the front to go with my 225's on the rear later in the year.

Ive turned yoks and Hoosiers around on the rims to get some more miles out of a set of tires.

Trekkor,
are those 225s the take offs you got from Yoko at Th?

Maybe you could try to get alittle more neg camber in front.

I am going to try to get at least -2.5. I will slot the shock towers if need be.
Trying for -3+ in the rear.

Yep rolleyes.gif

I've had my, Hoosiers and Yoks remounted outside-in before, too.
Just trying to maximize. :emptywallet:
