914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Intake Runner to Head Torq Spec?

Posted by: hmeeder Jan 29 2006, 02:39 PM

I loaned my manual to a buddy and can't remember the torq spec for the runners to the head.

For soime reason 10 lbs sticks in my head, but that may be for the injector clamps.

Anyone, Bueller?

I looked at what I have and I don't have it. I think that the 10# is for the injectors but the intake manifolds can't be more than 14.5#s along with all of the case studs.

Thanks Joe;

I was thinking it couldn't be too high a spec due in part to the aluminum and (I don't know, is it plastic?) gaskets between the intakes and the head. I would think you don't want to smash thos thongs down so fcar that they don/t properlu "crush" to ensure a good seal.

Thanks

I just checked in Haynes 4.35 lb ft. Good luck with the .35.

Dave is prolly right. I rembember taking out my inch pounds torque bar and doing the math. Something like 52 inch pounds.
