Hi Guys,
After removing my control arms for the rear last weekend, I find I have some work that need to be done. Not having a lot of "special" tools to do a lot of this work, I was looking at Eric's package and it really looks good. Anyone having his rear control arms have some feedback on them? For some more $$ the polybronze set up looks great also. After getting mine unhooked from the driveshaft and shock, I was unable to move the arm by hand, too tight. This doesn't seem like it would be good for handling. Any info or comments will be appreciated.
Thanks, Tom
If you are talking the rear Trailing arm.....it will have quite a bit of resistance to movement if the bushings are good. It's deflection, side to side, that is of real concern.
Yes, my mistake. It is the rear trailing arms. Very tight up and down , but lots of side to side monement due to inside bushing mostly gone.
Tom
They were never made to swivel vertically like a 4 link heim joint suspension would.
Now, burn out the remainder of the rubber bushings and replace with whatever kit you wish. Understand that the harder the bushing material, the more road noise to be transmitted to the uni-body (I can't hear my $3000 stereo).
