"Was trying to figure out how to keep the wife from hitting the 912 door when she got out of her car in the garage.
I think I hit it with this simple, low cost idea."

Here's one you'll never forget to take off -- it comes with hardware to attach to your garage's ceiling.

On the same subject...

My dad used to hang a fishing bob, that touched the windshield in a certain spot, so that he parked in the exact same place every time.

Good for narrow garages.

Hey Matt!

I didn't know you were married?

Been doing the string hanging from the garage ceiling for years. Brfore that when my wife put the car in the garage, she would do either( 1. ) in too far - can't walk in front of car , or (2.) not in far enough - garage door will not close.
So I hung a piece of high density foam ( some use a tennis ball ) from a piece of line and with the car in the garage at the correct position , had the foam just touching the windshield. Worked great until I was working around the garage with no car inside. Then I kept walking into this stupid piece of foam. Ah, I have to fix this! So I tied a washer about one foot from the ceiling and a piece of wire bent to look like a fish hook near the foam and whenever I am working in the garage with no car inside I just hook the wire onto the washer and the foam is high enough to clear my hear.
WARNING! If after you finish working, you do not unhook the wire from the washer , then either (1) or (2) above will happen.
Have a good weekend .

Hook the string to your garage door and a pully or eyehook or whatever, so that when the garage door is open and someone is trying to park, the tennis ball will be lowered into the correct position. When the garage door is closed, the ball will be up in the ceiling somewhere. Use super bright fly fishing line, for when you have to hang the ball in a different position or something to have enough length to open and close.

If you get started now, you might be done by the superbowl tomorrow.
