914World.com _ 914World Garage _ I've had a very fun/productive weekend

Well, as the title said, this was a very productive weekend:

1. I found a used/rebuilt 2.0 head at a local VW shop. The guy said the head has been rebuilt... Looks like the valves have been re-done. Some blue markings around the head (don't know how good a job this was, but it's an extra head). The guy sold it to me for $50 out the door. See pics.

2. I went to a friend's house for a poker tournament/superbowl party. The gods of luck shined upon me. I placed first out of 18 people in the tournament. Got a trophy and a nice little wad of cash.

3. My room addition/conversion for the studio/retreat is coming along. Should be done next weekend.

So what's the room going to be? In my head i'm thinkin "Darkroom...." idea.gif . But I'm a photo geek smile.gif

The room was a partially built "open office" in the garage. I'm enclosing it, adding a little more space, and calling it a "studio/office." Mostly a place where I can turn on music and sing, and play guitar poorly... without bothering the rest of the house. Notice, I left PLENTY of room to work on the teener.

I'm having visions of an engine rebuilding attempt. So... I made sure there was plenty of room for parts and a couple of work benches.
