My friend has a 1980 Vanagon 2.0L engine for sell. Does it work in 914?
He told me that I did not have to adjust the valve if I use that engine. Is that true.
He said it has 120 Horse power but I double it....
Thanks,
2.0 liter air-cooled horizontally opposed, 4 cylinder engine
Air Flow Control (AFC) electronic fuel injection
Power: 67HP @ 4200RPM
SAE net Torque: 101FtLbs @ 3000RPM
How much is he asking for it? I have one on ebay at the moment I got with a parts stash.

Those are good parts engines.. Crank, rods and cylinders are the same as a 914 2.0 engine. In a pinch the heads will do. The pistons are what kill ya, as they are extremely dished. They'd be great for a turbo though.

Don't the heads have square exhaust ports? I have a set in my garage. Won't bolt up to a 914 exhaust.... |
