914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Source for speedo drive o-ring??

Posted by: root Feb 14 2006, 07:59 PM

Help! I can't find a source for the o-ring shown on the right side of the photo
(just to the left of the drive gear) for the speedometer drive out of my 901 tranny. I really don't want to buy an entire tranny gasket set just for this o-ring.

Measured the groove to be: 3.13mm wide X 25.6mm diameter.

so

I tried a 3 X 25.....TOO BIG....won't fit into bore.
then I tried 2.5 X 22.....TOO SMALL....doesn't make a good tight seal??

It must be a 2.5 X 24 ... but I can't source one?????headbang.gif

I got one that works great in the plumbing department at The Home Depot.

Alright, first I'll try Lowe's 'cause it's on the way to work.
If I can't find one there I'll try Home Depot. biggrin.gif
