The accident in Malibu on PCH was a Red Enzo... A friend just drove by it and had to call and tell me. Sorry no pics, he says it's FUBAR though. Debris for 50 yards, telephone pole is inverted...
Someone had a bad morning NOTHING left behind the doors.

It should be on the news for anyone in so-cal...
And if you aren't in So-cal, you aren't important enough to get to see it
Pics will show up i'm sure.
BJH
I saw it on the news this AM. Couldn't tell it was an Enzo from the traffic copter shot. It was totaled. They said that the 2 occupants walked away from it too.
Sorry, no pix.

The print text says one person was treated for minor injuries at the scene, the voice over says it may be a fatality accident. Cabin area looks pretty intact, the rest ain't. The Cap'n
The text says it was "badly damaged".
Picture shows it without an engine and the back half is gone. I quess that is badly damaged
I only looks to me like about half a million dollars damage so maybe the insurance company won't total it.

That is the LAST time I loan my car out for some dipshit to drive.
So how many Enzo's are in that area of Ca.?
Anyone have a quess who owns it?
What part of stupid caused that to occur?

Seems to me the Enzo has a low polar moment of inertia like another car I know. I bet when the back end went it happened fast.
You mean this is a classic example of "losing the rear end"? I suppose rear end traction is REALLY bad when you don't HAVE a rear end ............. The Cap'n

I think he should have replaced his center tunnel lines.
Britain,
Did you take those?
hm, that engine actually looks fairly intact.

I've got dibs on that motor and gear box!
Can anyone say "ENGINE SWAP"!
I think his problem was that he switched to the braided brake lines. He did'nt listen when people said "YOU WILL DIE."

Engine looks intact, transaxle looks like it disintegrated.
I'm guessing... 150-ish mph.
Oh, and look at the oil streak in that one picture... that engine slid for a while before stopping.
I bet the guy lifted

It will be on ebay next week , ENZO FERRARI can be yours for 1/2 price, minor dents and dings, the usual.

That motor looks so forlorn....layin' there like so much road kill.
i heard this on the radio this morning on the way into work. I heard that the "driver" fled on foot, but they havent found him yet. The owner of the car was the injured passanger, his story was that he was letting someone else drive (a friend from Germany) and after the accident he ran. from what new reports i've read the owner was bleeding from the mouth and they found blood on the drivers airbag but not the passangers, and to boot the owner (whos claiming to be passanger) blew a 0.09 BA. CA law finds anyone over a .08 a DUI. But if i remember correctly if you are involved in an accident and you blow any alcohol they automatically give you a DUI.....
So do you think they were really doing anything close to 200 MPH?
one of the reports the CHP stated that they were in excess of 120 mph.....racing a high end Mercedes Benz..... after the accident the Mercedes left. It supposidly all started at a party last night in Beverly Hills.
QUOTE (airsix @ Feb 21 2006, 05:27 PM) | ||
Nope, this wreck was the result of using stainless steel braided brake flex lines. or a 19mm mastercyl. -Ben M. |

If the Benz Bozo left the scene, the LASD and the CHP will make a serious effort to find and bust him, too. Even if he wasn't involved in the accident, the case could be made that he was engaged in a speed contest, and was part of the problem. They're REALLY big on leaving the scene in cases like this. Gonna get interesting! The Cap'n |

Oh boo-freakin'-hoo. Too bad for him. Maybe he learned a lesson (and I betcha the guy they found in the passenger seat is the driver). Good thing they didn't take out anyone else. Most of the time you pick up those guys with a scoop shovel.
Anyone else notice that the road is straight? How do you "lose the rear" going straight if your not a DA-MF-RSOB and have another dozen
I bet that engine would fit in 914. It would be happy too - sitting on jackstands nice and safe.
Jesus! Howard's already got BIDS on that piece of trash, uh... I mean part of local Ferrari history.
Yeah. It's just to bad that he had to learn his lesson in an Enzo. "With great power comes great responsibility."
Friends don't let good friends drive their ferraris--under the influence that is
Stefan (owner- passenger) and Dietrich (friend- driver) are 2 real lucky sumbitches...not to mention anyone that incredibly did not get collected up in this road gernade. Maybe this little option (IID) should be put in his next vehicle

It, was just on the news again, and the interview of the owner- passenger, said he let this guy drive, and only new him by the name The German.

This is really interesting - the muffler has a valve and actuator on the second out-pipe - is that to maintain constant backpressure accross a range of flow rates or something? Or just to make noise when you floor it? |
Dietrich (aka Field Marshall Herring) has been spotted doing card tricks at Hollywood/ Highland with these 2 other guys.
