No going back now...after first of holes was drilled.

Well, Dan, there's more than one way to skin a cat....and now I've seen another one
A clever solution, me thinks.
BTW, I luv your speeling. Makes me feel right at home.
Dan,
How about installing three louvered panels in the trunk. Someone around here must still make them.
The cooler sits over one and the other two are for inlet.
Nice and close, no issues with pumping oil a long way.
Rules and class issues, don't know.
Edit...Opps, I thought this was the older post.
I like your installation.. it is super clean.
How are you going to hold the cooler off the floor?
Air I assume will come in via the little front holes.
Thanks JP and yes my spelling is more an issue of my fingers typing faster than my brain sometimes
Randal, I am going to run one bolt thru the aluminum shroud into the existing mounting location for the spare tire...at the rear I am going to run 2 3.5" bolts through the floor and into the corresponding existing bolts on the shroud. Will be attached in 3 places with sturdy bolts
Just finished rewiring my (now useless) foglight switch to work as the power switch for my cooler fan. Switch now works when the ignition switch is on...no need for headlights to be on for it to have power any longer....thanks Demick.
And yes, I removed 5 of the plastic plugs in the front bulkhead and drilled corresponding holes in my LE valance. should provide plenty of air to the cooler.
That 1600CFM fan moves a lot of air all by itself That coupled with the 25 row oil cooler and my little 4 banger should be running plenty cool...even at BW or TH in July or August.
Thanks again Randal for the cooler and fan!
It looks like you used a numeric machine to cut those holes.
What tools did you use?
Question of the week, what course do you think that fan/shroud combinations was made for????
You got it, BW of course.
Need one of those fans in the drivers compartment as well!

These guys always have something to seal whatever and they ship FAST.

That installation is going to be pretty slick Dan.
Back to BW, Bontempi told me about a trick of his that works well.
Keep a t-shirt submerged in cold ice water until your ready to go out on the track.
Put it on under your driving suit and you are good for the next session.
Putting the t-shirt on of couse is a bit of a shock, but after 5 minutes on grid you'll be a happy and cool camper.
On the other hand you can spend big $$$ for one of those mechanical cool shirts!
Here is a pic of what I did to my front LE spoiler (no it wasn't NOS)
Attached image(s)
It looks like infinite drag between the LE spoiler and the trunk holes.
That is going to slow you down!
Don't tell anybody that your fan is made by Chaparrel!
Very nice Dan!
Can't wait for a ride while you're dicing with Ken H.
Bill P.
I'll have to reverse the polarity so it will suck instead of blow
Infinite drag...is that a club in San Francisco North Beach?
Thanks Bill, you are being too kind. This will be a B ticket ride compared to Fritz. But I am building it to be a bullit proof track car. No fun working on your car at the track. the more I do now the less I will have to do later and at the track.
Dan,
Nice Job!
Greg
Thanks Greg,
Have you registered for CDS at BW in April yet?
Hi Dan,
Tricia and I will be at the Buttonwillow event 4/15-16! Can't wait to see your car up close
Your oil cooler design seemed so familiar....
I couldn't put my finger on it....
Then it hit me!
Is this where you got the http://www.hovercraft.com/sub_menu_propellers_fans_hubs.html?
