Yes. get a good spot weld cutter. Use a lot of patience. Measure and mark exact locations.

The long was equally as rusty on my car so i spliced from the center of the door to the 3" above the suspention console. sawzall-smiley.gif Just support the car while you cut. I did this because i hate drilling spot welds and the cutter i bought from eastwood would only do 10 at a time before needing resharpening. My outer was included in this splice. If your long is good then ignore what i just said.

No, it's not that easy. The section underneath the long has a second "scab" plate welded over the top.

my longs are as rusted - meaning bad but I think at this spot they are ok for a replacement suspension console. My plan for the longs is to make them strong again but cheapest non-pretty way as they will get covered by rockers anyway. This will be the car I put a subaru motor and tranny into. I will remove the engine tin shelf also to make the engine bay more roomy. I will post some pics of the other rust asap. Thanks guys.

For tose that don't know me - I am easily satisfied - these repairs will not be pretty but will be safe and functional. I just want to drive : )
