Nice lap Bill!
What kind of times were you turning?
yea' bill!
do you have the part where you stomp the tail dragger???
Seems to me like you were taking it easy...
Didnt "sound" like you really got on it...
Maybe im just use to the sbc sound... I dono..
Hi Dan,
I don't know what times we were turning, my hot lap timer fell apart...
I was able to pull away from Greg Adams who was following me, and he was turning 1:58's.
Hi Roger,
I just downloaded the raw file. I'll edit it down and you'll get to see the car in front of me go too hot into turn 4. Nothing spectacular, just alot of dust....
Bill P.
Hi Andrew,
You are right. I was shifting around 6K RPM instead of redline of 6800. Getting a feel for the car. This was only the third time I had driven Fritz. Getting to know each other is the key word here....
Bill P.
I get cha.. i get cha...
the autox in my sig was my second (and first) time autoxing the car.. I had my gf in the car,
I was getting to know it as well...
More more! that's freaking sweet! that 3.6 sure does have a cool sound
Did you catch trekkor out there?
Eric

That was great Thanks for the ride.
Super cool...
Is this the car you're bringing to Buttonwillow?
Looks like that lap was about a '56 or '57 Bill.
Didn't appear that you were pushing it real hard. Although in Fritz you can go pretty fast before it looks or feels real fast. Car is very capable and a blast to drive. Driving it later in the year when the track is stickier will be a big hoot!
Once you get used to the feel of the taildragger instead of the 6 you will be right up in the standings. You already seem to be getting the hang of the AX courses with Fritz....I know you can let it hang out alittle more on a parking lot than at Sears or Laguna....
nice!
so, that's what it's going to sound like, eh?
quick question, why not have a second shift-light for downshifting?
Andy
Really nice video!!!
Hey not to get off the subject but I work in dvd authoring and replication. So if you guys ever get together a bunch of footage and want a dvd for the club I could knock that out fairly fast. I already do some racing videos for other car clubs now and then.

Downshift lite...
Shift lite at 6k
downshift lite at 4.5k
Tells you when you should downshift..
Andy,Kind of thought that is where you were going with that idea. In a track car, between a yellow or green up shift light and a red oil pressure light I think another light for downshifting would be too much....IMHO Maybe others feel differently...I have driven lots of track cars with shift and oil lights, personally I have never had either in my car. Just not my cup of tea personally.
IF I build a bigger motor for my track car I may consider a shift light eventually.

On the track your downshifting is done during braking.
Slightly different than street driving.
Still not quite sure how it would be benneficial? Maybe I am being dense
You will love the sound of that big six right behind you ears
I finally got the video.
Nice.
I can tell you will be faster, too
KT
Thanks guys!
As you can see in the video, I wasn't pushing Fritz. The car is wonderful, nothing like actually having a well built tub and a great motor.
The 2nd gear and 3rd gear spacing was a little long in my opinion for Sears. It was fine at Laguna but a taller 2nd might have helped although carrying more speed may have been the answer.
I let Rich Walton from Jerry Woods Enterprises run my car later in the day. I can honestly say I have never been more intimidated in a car as a passenger. Rich passed every car in my run group like they were standing still. I kid you not.
For a reference, Rich runs a Toyo Cup 3.0 in PRC and runs 1:49's at Infineon. My car can generate more g's and has at least 50 more horsepower. It was amazing to be in the passenger seat and experience the car accelerating where I was braking. Although I am somewhat embarrassed to say it, I was within a hair of asking Rich to slow down....yes slow down...during his turn at the wheel. I was so uncomfortable and unprepared for the violence of motion inside the car.
FYI, Rich was one of the co-drivers of the 911 that won the 25 hours of Thunderhill. He is an excellent driver. And because of that ride I had a breakthrough in the last session that I couldn't have had without the ride. I was moving extremely fast in my last session looking forward to the time trial when the rain came.
Sometimes you need to go through the fear and experience to understand what your car is capable of. I'm glad I did, but I did fell slightly nauseous after my ride with Rich.
Bill P.
Hi Allan,
Yes, this is the car I will have at Buttonwillow on Friday March 31st. Are you still planning on coming out to visit?
Bill P.
Bill,
Now you have some idea what it is like to go out every TT with inexperienced drivers....being in the passenger seat is sometimes less than enjoyable....although as you say there have been times when they don't listen to my directions, do something like braking very late for a turn, but we make it. Wow I just learned something for myself next time.
At least the person you were riding with is an excellent, experienced driver
Looking forward to BW.
Dan,
I now have a profound respect for instructors. I don't think I could be one. I cannot convey enough how intimidated I was at the speed we were going....in my own car. I was scared. No sugar coating it. I had not experienced the g's the car was capable of doing lap after lap.
This is the pace I will need to be at when competing later this year in door to door. Right after the ride I even questioned whether I could do this (racing). But after going back out by myself in the afternoon, I found myself okay......and going faster than I had ever gone.
Truly an amazing experience, and one that I recommend. You are in the moment. No worries about work, relationships, nothing. You are living that moment in time.....and it is remakable.
Bill P.
Wow!
I rode with an instructor on the track at Sears last year.
He was bouncing off the berms up on two wheels and passing everyone, dive bombing, like he was qualifying.
I told him to slow down so I could learn something.
I know how you must have felt.
