The question is whether or not to power coat the pickup bed cover as show in the link following:

So on a sunny / hot day will white or silver work better to keep my race tires cooler?

Technically I think you are correct. Both white and silver tend to be reflective through the full spectrum. The red, actually infrared, end of the spectrum is where the heat is. Possibly a red car would also reflect the red end of the spectrum enough to be noticeable, afterall, the color you see is the color that is reflected and not absorbed.

white/silver is certainly better than flat black ...

also, you probably want to leave parts of the cover open, so air can circulate ...

They run about $750 silver, $150 for powder coating.

White is best for cool.....

There is a reason the top of the Space Shuttle is white......

The REALLY REALLY EXPENSIVE black CarbonCarbon tiles on the bottom just don't care what color they are...

Almost no heat transmision (unless there is a hole) blink.gif
