914World.com _ 914World Garage _ How tight to squeez the case

How tight should I torque the RACEWARE case through bolts?

Porsche spec is 40 flbs, you will find even 2 more and the crankshaft
after sitting for a while will take force to brake loose, but ok turning.

no more than 30 lb/ft....

The only way I go further is if I have the case torqued with the higher value used and re align bore the case...

I see cases ruined all the time because guys think more torque is better...

Porsche spec on the TIV is 25 lb/ft, not 40. The torque value is as dependant upon the case as the fastener.

Don't go past 30.

Try 23.72 ft/lbs, NOT 40. You'll increase the bearing crush and increase the bearing wear dangerously. BAD MOVE! IMO, the torque spec remains 24 ft/lbs, Raceware, stock studs, or whatever. The Cap'n
