914World.com _ 914World Garage _ FUCK, THE 2nd WORST

Posted by: rhodyguy Sep 11 2003, 09:26 PM

APPEARENTLY SOMEONE HAS BEEN WATCHING MY HOUSE. I WENT TO THE STORE TODAY(1/2 HOUR). CAME HOME AND THE GARAGE DOOR WAS OPEN. THE SILVER CAR IS GONE. IT WAS RAINING AND I TOOK THE JETTA TO THE STORE. MUST HAVE BEEN THE WELCOME MAT SOMEONE WAS LOOKING FOR. THE POINT OF ENTRY ROOM WAS WHERE WE KEEP THE KEYS TO THE CARS. 14 MONTHS AND ALOT OF SELF SATISFACTION WASTED, SO FUCK ME TO TEARS. SO I WON'T BE AT THE GET TOGETHER ON SUNDAY. THE SHERRIFF TOLD ME THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW IF THEY FIND THE CAR(DON'T CALL US). HOPE THE PUNK WRECKS IT AND WINDS UP PARALIZED. I WILL GO TO THE HOSPITAL, STUFF A RAG IN HIS MOUTH AND STICK STRAIGHT PINS IN HIS EYES(NO JOKE). .

Who the hell steals a 914?! He'll stick out like a sore thumb. Let's hope he gets f*cked.

Posted by: boxsterfan Sep 11 2003, 09:35 PM

Un-f'ing believable.

My boxster just got egged on the way home last Friday and it left some nice chips dead center on the front hood. Didn't catch the b@st@rds, but given your situation, I feel lucky.

All I can say is that I hope they get what they deserve!!

Sorry about the car. It's stuff like this that just really just doesn't make any sense.

Hope you have better luck w/ the Sherrif...

Posted by: Qarl Sep 11 2003, 09:40 PM

Don't know what to say... but holy shit dude!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really, really sorry. Talk about getting stabbed in the chest.

I had a car stolen. My folks delivered it to me in college (brand new, red, VW Scirocco 16 valve). Had it in town for 2 hours (literally) before it was jacked. It was found a week later in an abandonded school yard, completely stripped, even the weatherstripping.

Keep us posted.

Again.. really sorry for you Kevin. headbang.gif headbang.gif headbang.gif

Kevin, wow I can't believe it. I don't know what to say. I never thought someone would be able to figure out the shift pattern. I feel for you kevin, let us know if there's anything we can do. Hopefully someone find's the car.

damn, I'm sorry to hear that! I hope someone runs over them once they step out of the car!

Posted by: p914 Sep 11 2003, 10:11 PM

That just plain sucks!

You live around Rhododhendron?

Posted by: rhodyguy Sep 11 2003, 10:11 PM

no caps now. that's the one. if i REALLY wanted to cry i'd pull up the "sliver in sunlight" picture. i'm at a loss. i've crapped out before but atleast i was tossing the dice. if you saw where i live you would know this is not some random thing. i believe someone was watching the car. just a gut feeling.

kevin

Posted by: Mike Pearson Sep 11 2003, 10:11 PM

Oh, crap...sorry to hear about that!

I'll keep an eye open in my travels around the area. What's the plate number, and are there any special distinguishing characteristics (besides the sleazeball that's likely behind the wheel)?

Posted by: Qarl Sep 11 2003, 10:15 PM

Look for the big airdam (as in the picture above).

shit shit shit shit shit!!!!!!!!

Be on the lookout for any "new" 914club members with silver cars....

all kidding aside, just pay attention at the AX events too.

Posted by: Qarl Sep 11 2003, 10:22 PM

I cross posted at Pelican as an FYI.

IT will be found.

Posted by: rick 918-S Sep 11 2003, 10:25 PM

I feel for you dude. I had it happen.

I'll never forget the feeling. I was 18 yrs. old, working my ass off to pay my rent and modify my cars. It was a Friday after work. I had a rust free 1960 chev Impala 2 dr hard top from Texas with a 348 ci V8. I just installed a Muncie Rock Crusher. It was stolen in broad daylight. My nieghbor in the apt building I lived in at the time saw them do it. He told me they were smashing the windows out of it as they rolled down the street! Even worse than that I woke up around 9:00 am the following Sunday morning and walked out of the apt. to get a paper. I looked across the street and my 68 camero was gone!!!! No insurance on either car! I got a call from the cops about a week later. They told me I needed to go identify my car. I went to the tow yard and an old guy stuck his head out of his home office. He was eating his dinner. I asked about the car. He points up the hill and says something as he chewed and gives me a half grin with corn in his teeth. I walked to the top of the hill mumbling to myself that the car he pointed to isn't a camero, it's a Mustang. What does that old fart know about cars anyway! As I got closer I realized the car he pointed to was my Camero! Or what was left of it! The cop told me they found it in a gravel pit. He told me there were tracks from a 4wd all over the place. He thought they kept hooking a chain on the car to flip and drag it around the pit. Then I get a call a few days later from a friend that told me he thought he spotted my 60 Chev at a local scrap yard. By the time I got there they had stacked 4 cars on top of it! Never found out who did it, but I had my suspitions.

Rural? I'd be sad if it turned out to be one of your neighbors (or their kids)....

Posted by: Bleyseng Sep 11 2003, 10:35 PM

God Damn it!!! That is incredible!! Your house is so far off the beaten track it has to be some one close that knows the car. Your right probably some punks.
They finally have caught the guys (a family affair) who stole Blairs Mazda 1st gen as they had stolen lots of cars. These guys sell the parts so yes, watch Ebay.

You should still come the the breakfast Kevin.

Posted by: RustyWa Sep 11 2003, 11:20 PM

That is horrible news Kevin. You and others should repost all the photos of your car, in this thread, so we can all get accustomed to the car.....and parts.

This just blows.

Posted by: krk Sep 11 2003, 11:20 PM

Kevin,

I'll add my voice -- this bites. Hopefully it's a joy rider and the car will be picked up soon. (who steals a 914 to make money?) You can be sure there will be lots of eyes on ebay/etc. (if there are special parts that are identifiable, post descriptions) No need for the buggers to make money easily on this BS.

Posted by: Brad Roberts Sep 11 2003, 11:27 PM

Kevin.. we need pics and license plate numbers of the car. I'm sure we have enough "eyes" here on this board.. that NOTHING could be sold off the car and us not find out about it.

B

Posted by: reverie Sep 12 2003, 12:54 AM

It might be the local kids, who park it somewhere after a joy ride. But it could be the local druggies, who will try to part it out sooner or later, either on the local black market or e-bay. We'll be looking for it.

If it stays on-shore, it will be found.

Kevin.. you can count on us.

Posted by: Jenny Sep 12 2003, 01:51 AM

Just curious, do paint shops get some sort of heads up on which cars are stolen and they shouldn't be doing a repaint on?? I mean from the cops. Maybe call the local body/paint shops and see if they've seen the car...

I'm so sorry to hear about this Kevin. There is no worse feeling than that of violation, and loss to boot. If the punks are planning on doing anything 914 related with the car, you can bet your ass we'll find it.

Jen

Posted by: ChrisReale Sep 12 2003, 02:03 AM

Check out places like "Absolute german' and othe r yards where employees might have a way to boost their saleries. FUCK. Im sorry about this man.

Posted by: GWN7 Sep 12 2003, 02:33 AM

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Print up "wanted posters" on the car and take them around to the local auto parts stores. Most will let you stick them up. The more eyes on the lookout for it the better.

I know it's locking the barn door after the fact, but get an alarm system.

Posted by: Curvie Roadlover Sep 12 2003, 06:14 AM

WOW Kevin, This is horrible. I can't even imagine how you must feel. I'm sorry for your loss. Unfucking believable!

That pretty much bites the big green one.....hmmmm, must be a local kid. Makes you want to join a vigilante group and get a rope. Hang his ass for a period long enuff to put him in a wheel chair for life, mad.gif shitting in a diaper and peeing in a bag......

Fuck Off Kevin (see if he still reading this one)

WTF are you up so early, B?

Ok.. everyone pitch in... lets get Kevin all the DRUGS he can handle..

I guess now isnt a good time for Viagra ??

B

Posted by: ninefourteener Sep 12 2003, 10:30 AM

Wow......... I can't even imagine....... I'm so sorry.

I agree with most of the posts.... no one steals a teener unless it's for "joyride" purposes. I can definately see it being found in a few days..... hopefully it will still be in good shape.

Can't offer much help up here in St. Louis, other than the fact I watch the 914 parts ads on ebay daily. I'll keep an eye out for nice teener parts coming from the WA area.

Just a thought..... I still have this hunch that it was young punks. Young punks like stereos and speakers.... shit like that. Did your car have a stereo in it? Maybe post "stolen car" flyers at local car audio shops?

It's a long shot..... just trying to think of everything.

Best of luck... sincerely.

Posted by: rhodyguy Sep 12 2003, 12:31 PM

thanks for all the support and the help. 0 stereo in car. like i thought that would be less of an "enticement" against vandalism. the sherriff i spoke with this am was sympathetic but brutally straight forward. most joy riders take cars off the street and proptly dump them. a "collectable" car in a garage tends to be a planned crime. my guess is someone has a pos rusted hulk with a clear title. my car is probably getting resprayed as i type. i consider it gone unless i get a cheerful phone call. as long as they don't sell it they can tab it indefinately. i'm trying to keep a happy thought but i'm looking at the real conclusion to the whole mess. will i look for a new car? frankly, i don't know. now i get to wait a month for the ordeal with the insurrance co to start. oh boy sad.gif . 914 people are good folks. no matter what the people that drive "REAL PORSCHES" say. wink.gif

Posted by: alphacrimedog Sep 12 2003, 12:35 PM

ar15.gif Man that really sucks. It probably was some young punks. And NOTHING will happen to them. I'm a cop and I know. A few weekd ago we caught this 14 year old during 4 successive days, three times in a stolen car and once for shoplifting. All that could be done is fill out the paperwork and take the little bastard home, while he laughs at me all the way home. The last thing he said when we let him out of the Police Car was " See you tomorrow".Juvenile court is so booked that we take armed robbers home if they are juveniles, They practically have to kill somebody. fighting19.gif fighting19.gif fighting19.gif

Posted by: rhodyguy Sep 12 2003, 12:44 PM

and i will feel compelled to follow every 914 with a new paint job. if i knocked out the teeth of a 16 y.o car thief, think i'll get a ride home? sure if home is the pierce county lock up. the triad is the dead give away. if i see that i'll know who the culprit is.

kevin

Posted by: Elliot Cannon Sep 12 2003, 12:56 PM

Sorry about the car Kevin! That sucks big time. I'll keep my eyes open if by chance the car pops up in So. Cal. I don't think it was a joy ride. I think someone had their eyes on it and saw a chance to get it. I know I'll be watching mine a little closer now.

Posted by: Ferg Sep 12 2003, 01:03 PM

This sucks!! You may also want to send something out to the webmaster of "thesamba" the VW site. They have a stolen section! I guess it's possible it was stolen by vw hacks for parts, wheels engine ect... Just another avenue.

Hope the guy doesn't get into an accident and get paralyzed. In THIS screwed up country, he can SUE YOU.

Hope he stops at a restaurant near your home, and chokes on a cheeseburger. When the cops come to dispose of his carcass, they'll see your car and phone you.

At least I know that anyone who's cased-out my garage knows that my car spends too much time up on jackstands to be worth stealing.
