The PO put "new" shocks on the rear and had a set ready to be installed for the front. They are BOGE shocks painted yellow.
Anyway, I am in the middle of replacing ball joints and a TTR kit so I'm thinking of putting these shocks on the front. But is there a way to tell if these shocks are in good condition while they're out of the car? I can pull the shaft all the way up and push it all the way in, it offers more resistance the faster I do it.
Is there anything I can do to see if these shocks are worth installing?
Yup they are still good. Koni's work the same way but have the ability to adjust rebound (at least for the sports) which slows down the rate at which the shock extends.
If you can move the shock fast in and out it is shot.
