914World.com _ 914World Garage _ OT-Engine drop

Posted by: JB 914 Mar 24 2006, 02:52 AM

an engine drop of a different sort. Had some work done on my engines that required pulling one out. Not a good idea to sawzall-smiley.gif the bottom of the boat. I was sweating it when they swung it out over a nice newly painted sailboat and a few other misc. high dollar boats.

everything went smooth. Worst part was waiting for the weather to do it!!

I'll be fishin this summer. idea.gif think i'll use Aaron and MattR as shark chum. wink.gif

yes, counter rotation on the engines and props. otherwise you just go in circles wacko.gif

I'll get around 1-1.5 Gallons per mile depending on my cruising speed and sea conditions. I have not had a chance to go very far, but, my rough calulations based on usage should be in that range. It's a heavy boat. about 15,000lbs

JOE, I'm totally in for some gas/bait money whenever you feel like going fishing! Got my own gear, just no boat. Used to fish with a buddy up north but his new Vette is taking all his fishing moola. I got a couple of free passes from the wife and kids too. You name the day and time and I'll be there, hell, I'll call in sick on week day to go out. biggrin.gif
I'll bet a couple of others here might buy some gas too. beerchug.gif
