914World.com _ 914World Garage _ No Brake lights

I am going through a wiring diagram, but was hoping that there might be someone else out there that has had this problem.

I lost my brake lights a few weeks ago. Bulbs good, power to taillights. I have a new brake light switch that is/was working, and seems to check out with a multi meter. I dont think that I need a new one, and don't seem to have a problem at fuse number 8 location.

Anyone had any luck tracing a wiring problem for the brake lights?

tm,
Check the electrical connections/contacts at the brake light switch by the pedal assembly. U want clean and tight connects. Hope that helps!

The wires are black with yellow stripe so check to make sure the connection at the fuse panel is good and tight with 12.5 volts. On both our 73 and 74 the key has to be fully on before they will work. With the switch unhooked make sure the wire connector(s) at the brake lights do not show a short to ground. Finally with the switch on make sure one of the black/yellow wires shows 12.5 volts at the switch connector. Good luck
