I know theres a thread out there discussing these things, I tried to dig it up to add this on too, but couldn't find the thread, but here they are, I knew the guy who makes these said he was waiting on parts to finish these.

yeah, but wouldn't you want the gauge inside the car where you can SEE it when driving? what good is the oil-temp if you have to stop to check it???

just a simple no hassle way to have a secondary direct reading gauge. No tubing or wires to run, I want one.

I just picked one up and it is aready on its way to me. For the past few months for me to to get a second accurate check on my oil temp I would stop and quickly snake a temp wire down the dipstick. This will really help me keep a no hassle track and use as a second to my oil temp "Guess o' Meter" on the dash.
I think it's brilliant. I like the idea of a mechanical oil temp solution and not just a VDO electric one. Here is the guys site:

Brilliant idea. Found out at the track this weekend that using the 30 year old wiring in the dash to run a new temp guage and sender is not a good idea. Guage read 220 - probe through dipstick hole read 179.6. Guage at 260 - 180.1 in the dipstick hole. Thremal gun at the filter showed same readings. If you are going to run guages and expect accurate results, run brand new wires from the battery as well. I nice guage like the one in this thread will help to calibrate things and keep you from wasting time and worry on innacurate temp readings (or pressure, or voltage, or EGT, etc).
