Okay... we know what your car looks like... what about you?
Here I am with my son, Hunter...
Here's a pic of me and my girlfriend
Here's me hiding behind my camera.
Hey... get away from the camera... so we can see your lovely face.
Queenie... it's REALLY nice to have some women in the group. If we get out of line at any time... just sent us a virtual smack!
Heck... we're also glad you're participating lately!
This is me with the 74 that I sold to James Adams! And my future project in the background!
This is me. oh oh, tried to preview post and something went wrong, I'll try again.
You cant preview if you have a photo!
Ok, its not me, but its my wife she is Boldylocks. I'll have to find a photo of me, dont have any here at work.
i've got 2:
me and shannon
and my grumpy self
I think we have seen more than enough, stay off my nipples...lol!!
Here is two of me...
Total Recall Titties
Me and my favorite Maduro:
Nice tits Britain! I think you need one on your back... for slow-dancing
here's my better half...
This is me doing what I do that allows me this 914/911 addiction
Me and why I work.
I have only one picture.. just saw it last week!
By the way, I see Britain has put his oars (all 3?) in the water for the next avatar contest.
I am the tall one with no palm.
Heres what I look like after the wife gets a hold of me...
Here's the only picture I have of me. It's with Brian Setzer, and the "World's Largest Left Handed Truck Parts Flying V".
It was taken in late March, 1991, at the Dallas National Vintage Show.
after that, we went and got tatoos...
Ok, here is one with Monique and I when we went to the SSI Swap Meet. This is how we got there via the cable cars.
Hey look... it me
I drive a vintage car - so here's a vintage photo.
I still wear the same size pants - just not bell bottoms
Is that a ear ring Jeroen?? Damn! You and Andy, WTF is the ear ring thing....
Geoff, yep, actually I have 2 ever since I was 10 or 11 years old...
Vegas... I thought you said you was a punk?
Must be a European thing....you and Andy have to be different..
Along the grand canyon, I sit with my watch.
this is my "vintage" foto,
nineteen eightyyyyyyyy ........... 3
this was my "Magnum P.I." phase!!
So dude , is that like the Indiatlantic boardwalk?
Are you like ready to go catch some energy?
(go surfin at the boardwalk or Sebastian inlet bridge to those that know)
Up here it would start rusting your ear off right away with all the rain.
The salt in the air coats your car overnight and you have to rinse your windshield in the AM to see where you are going. And, Ein 6ixer probably lives in the 4-6 foot above sealevel part of Indiatlantic.
I lived there from 1969 to 1983. Lived just across the highway from Paradise Beach park and drove a killer Karmann Ghia convertible.
Allso went to FIT and worked for HarryAss as an engineer.
My 914 is from rust free NC.
Okay... let me rephrase the question....
What the heck do you look like NOW!!!!?????
Ein 6er--- I wouldn't have recognized you then... as I know you now. You got to admit.. your style has changed! You are the last person I'd picture in an Izod shirt.
Heee heeee... you all are a riot! The vintage photos are funny.
Here is a photo of me and my fiance at Monterey Bay...
I guess I get Germany and Holland mixed up with Suriname where its 90+ everyday..lol
Me and my new partner in crime! 10 months ago.
Before I got the 914 bug! Found out (almost too late) that the teener will out maneuver them thar shiny gun tote'n machines
I'm going to help a few people out.
Dave Darling (sitting in a 914 trunk during one of arm yearly sawzall parties)
Me during another sawzall party..
This has been fun.. I think I have found a link between 914s and a recessive gene, a 914-gene, as it were.. and is, and shall be.
Physical traits are empty pockets, a dent in the forehead from hitting the steering wheel in frustration, and a huge right leg from brake checks.
Well after years of paying my dues I finally have my picture in this months PCA Pano. Boy, am I proud of this moment. Here it is, taken at this year's Parade. That is Lewis and John (fellow 914ers) I'm standing with.
OK, here is the whole family. Wife Amy, and Emily. We're smiling because we just bought the house behind us. Alright we didn't, that Portland Headlight on vacation a few years ago.
hey redshift, check my tattoo, you may reconize the subject.....
URY914, I was looking at that page and where the hell are all the 914's?? Behind the Porsche tractor exhibit behind the building???
I think that is what you are doing, looking around going "Where are the 914's?"
Here's a pic of me at the 2002 DCGP (I'm really having a much better time than it looks )
Karl and Dave when they went to middle school together.......
DD and Jamie Rust at the swap meet
Wholesome family pic from Easter. The boy is bigger now, and the wife and I have longer hair.
i have longer hair now too......
A picture of Brad and Craig drinking beer
oh wait, a pic....
me with whitey... now retired to a parts car... to get the red one going right
ScottB.. I went backwards in the thread to see if you had short hair (you duped me 100%)
I'm glad to see we are are buch of normal misfits.
Many of us seem to be folicularly challenged....
I will look like ScottB in 4 years (age 37). I havent worn a hat for than 20 hours total in my life. Didnt start using ANY chemicals in my hair (hair gel/spray) until this year (starting coloring it) I thought this would help keep my hair around. I had already watched my dad lose 80% of his hair by age 36. I thought it was because he always wore hats.. DENIED. Its hereditary.
my brother Eric (L), Dad © & Me ®
Well Brad, you could spent $30k on hair transplants....
I'd rather have a nice six.
i'm 40 and started losing the folicles around 22. never knew my mom's folks but saw a pic of her dad and he had a full head. my paternal grandfather had a full mop until he tipped over at age 95. my dad is into 'creative combing' and not giving in. my brother and i don't give a shit so we shave it down with clippers every couple of weeks.
my comb is a towel......
Not responsible for broken monitors
Me and boy at Torquay
I'm rarely on the "other" end of the camera
Here is a picture of Blair. I swear he looks more like that guy at the Jack in the Box than me!
Here is another one of Blair, he just turned 22.
fucker i knew i should have deleted those pics on the camera
Blair... you can always whip out this "digitally enhanced" photo of your dad... heh heh heh!
If you want me to try other hair styles I can....
Maybe a green "Sir Andy" mohawk!
You know Karl, I have Photoshop too! I'll just have to whip up something for you. Those pics of Blair were not Photoshoped! When Blair takes his mask off he looks like the first one!
His mom used stop at Jack in the Box everyday for some reason.
Here's me today with my sad motor. Anyone want to borrow some hair?
Me in my ride
Me saying Hi to Brad....
Here I am
maybe that's what she meant...
MikeZ, it that how you used to win all the AX races? If anyone finished quicker than you (or mare fun of your bunny ears), you shot their tires out?
JP, no pic??
Hey how do I edit a post wasn't that an option ???
Well....let's see..........there's the edit button......waaaay over on the right.
Doan matter tho. I already got the quote. It's forever
Some time ago....
Joe, there's an edit-button on the right hand side above your post...
JP, those hoses sure look sexy on you
And fairly current....
I've replaced women with cars.
Man am I a loser !!
Oh well, even a 914 is more dependable !!
JP, what are you fishing for??? Parts?
Jeroen, you are a preevert.
Them are neoprene waders, not panty hose.....tho I look gud in them, also
Any part of a salmon I hook is OK with me.
Current.....I get it.
Lee, thanks for making the pic bigger
Got it guess someone moved the edit button..... Thanks JP
Just had ta' ad this one. Dem babe's in Hawaii are cold!
Dirty Old Man Looks like she's pushing off and gettin ready to run!
Here's a pic of me from my houseboat trip last week.
Follicularly challenged, obviously!
For all of us "follicularly challenged" 914 owners...
my wife said it's not genetic at all...
It's from having the targa top off!...
It's "wind damage"!!!
Here's me about a year ago. No good recent pictures. I'm enjoying my friends T-Boned Audi 5000 Quattro.
From the over 55 side. So, do I get a senior's discount on my free 914CLUB membership?
Kellzey Sorry, Although there is no specific exclusion, There is no named peril for wind damge to your hair follicals under the terms of your auto coverage. I must respecfully deny your claim.
You guys made me realize that I have almost no pics of myself on the computer, but tons of car pics. Heres the best I could do, myself, brother in law and nephew wondering when those fuchs will be back from the refinishers
Man I don't have a recent photo. I AM working on a new Avatar though. I think you guys & gals will like it. You may even see some similarities. That's all I'm say'n for now.... This is the only photo I have.
Ok, so it's not me, I just like the picture.
The wife said it was good I was in the back yard with this out fit, said I might get shot if I was in the front yard! I just got out from under the house running wires for the 914 Playroom.
Looks a bit like Osama.....
I'd recognize that guy anywhere...
Number 7 in the deck, Momohammed Kharmann Ghiahad.
Here is my blurry pic but it shows my new 914 in the background as well as the corner of my DD.
Ill try for a less blurry one in a bit
Here's me with my "otehr" project (I know, I know... not as nice as a teener but...)
Winding that project up and starting to go full force on the 914-6/GT project while the 914-6 gets a new paint job.
I noticed we have a few Guitar Players on the list... even another in Salt Lake.
Guitar Player Magazine
Bass Player Magazine
I play mostly blues and folk
Looks nice and sunny in SL
Your RS looks nice I wish I coulda gotten together with you to check you tenners and your RS
Keep us posted on your GT progress
not so blurry pic
Playing 33 years. You can hear me play over on www.gregwilliams.com.
Just another 1-4-5. 12 string accoustic/electric. old rock, blues, some new rock. 44 years.
Can we get a guitar smiley?
Used to play bass... now I just jerk around with my p-cars
I've played guitar for about 9 years now... but it's fallen by the way-side... I'm still a gear junkie and I still pull out my tricked out Charvel and annoy the neighbors with bad renditions of Black Sabbath and early metallica through my '64 blackface tremolux!!
nice Ghia!!! my buddy has a '70 coupe he just bought for a project... his dream car! he plans to convert to type 4!! very cool!
MY wife and I
Speaking of vintage pics and Ghias. Here's me and my '69 form way back.
This is me 20 years ago with the same 914 I have today. Dave Hall
Great thread eveyone. Please.. if your reading this thread.. post a pic of yourself/car/wife/dog/kids.
Dave Hall.. I oculd tell by the color of the carpet beneath the car that pic was 20 years old...ha ha.
Me and the wife:
And our latest edition Zoe:
Here is the wife and I a couple of years ago when we were running around europe:
Ok, if we are doing pets. Here is one on Shabu our cat.
and my Dream:
Thank you, Thank you very much!
Future 914 owners:
Wife, Daughter and I up in Prescott, AZ
A photo a little bit older, back when Zois was still 25. Some habits never change...
Okay, here's a better picture of me (VERY recent picture). I'm the geek on the right The hottie on the left is the woman I'm madly in love with AND the one who helped me buy the current 914 that's dripping oil in my garage...and she doesn't know how to operate a manual tranny! Don't worry, I'm gonna teach her
me and my girlfriend on her birthday
And the rest of my harem
Do you have the shot where she was slapping the SH_T out of you after you smacked her ??
Do you have a room for rent ??
I have never seen three sets of Simese twins in one place.
I spent time in a few "clubs" in Daytona.. I have seen quite a few.
Me and the boy. Choppin our hair. Spencer likes mohawks, Mommy doesnt.
Here's one we affectionately call "The Shea's" This is my wife Vanessa with Jim Shea at the Winter Olympics. She was a volunteer. She's Brazilian so she worked with the Brazilian team (tons-o-metals there... I think they came for the party).
We're now officially 1 day past her due date. She get's induced tomorrow AM so I should have a new family shot by tomorrow night.
Nice EB Jeroen. We need to get a band together.
My wife and I at Beacons in Tahoe
Wow, it must be true. P cars do get hotties. Everyone's significant other is gorgeous.
I especially like Jeroen's guitar playing/skirt wearing days.
Thought you said you were going to Hawaii?
Or are you posting from there?
All the women look great, the 914s look great now or will one day, but the owners are BUTT UGLY!!
Something recent? OK ...
"What the heck are these two looking at?" (Downtown Scottsdale, AZ - Sept. 2003)
And Mrs. Purse-Strings:
"You're gonna take me somewhere NICE tonight!" (Glendale, AZ - Sept. 2003)
They're looking to the sky for the great 914 God to come down and save them from "large man in middle".
Did they sell you that cigar in the earlier pic?
Nah ... I brought my own Dominicans from home.
Gotten too old to handle that peyote stuff. Besides, Mrs. Purse-Strings told me to behave on this trip; said the strongest anything going into me was the heat. And man was it hot.
But it's a DRY heat.
Rouser, I agree. Today's Dominicans are the best. Hench the name vsg914.
The beginning of my ski bum days!!
Circa 1986 or 1987.
My first 914!
Posting from home. Just flew in at 6:30 this morning. Once I recover, I'll post a pic here from the wonderful world of Hawaii.
Time for a little maturity here. Retired guy getting ready to autocross yesterday. Photo credit to Bruce Allert ( he couldn't find a brass girl for me).
The wives and girlfriends are HOT. The first pic I posted of mine was over 5 years old. Check this one out from this year and after 2 kids. She is getting better all the time! Hope to bring her to the Nashville meet.
your girlfriend is HOT!!!
Don't let your wife see that.
He is my embarassing shot from the '80's. This is 1987 in Fort Myers on the causeway out to Sanibel.
That's me on the left.....
Honest!... I have that pic on my mongo CAD monitor at work and was looking at the background and ......
There I was!
Here's a picture of my wife of 23 yrs. on the same bridge as Cha914 and his wife in Annecy, france
A picture of me a couple of days later in Chamonix at the base of Mt. Blanc
Here's Meredith and me on the Tour 2000 ...
And here's Meredith and the rest of the family and me a year later:
Here's me enjoying breakfast on Waikiki Beach at Duke's last Friday.
All dolled up...
OMG, the women just keep getting better.
my daughter and I
oops, forgot the pic
Yo, It's me, Mike D.
Here I am on that same bridge in Annecy
And my 4 Swedish roommates...........
Where is this freaking bridge at??
I'm bettin the bridge is a prop at Warner Bros.
"Get your picture taken in France...."
These photos are fun and it's good to put a face with a name.
I'm a little curious about those pictures from the past with the long hair, bell bottoms, platform shoes and hitch-hiking across Europe. It probably shouldn't be a surprise that members of a group who enjoy an odd little German car are secure enough to post old photos of their past for public comment and ridicule.
Skirt wearin' guitar pickers and bridge tenders. Sounds like a 914 group to me!
Okay, seems like evryone's offering their "alps" pictures. Here I am in the alps somewhere. Judging from the van, I'd say it's the Italian side. And judging from the way I seem to be nervously clutching something, I may have run afoul of law enforcement.
Do you have any pics of you on WOODEN Ski's....LOL
Shoot, thats what I started skiing on. Plus I had those leather lace up ski boots that hurt like hell until your feet froze.
Schroeder! We got us a band. Bass, plenty-o-gitars and now some stix Awesome.
Even more awesome is this... the newest member!
Nicole Adelina Shea
9/23/03 12:59 PM
P.S. I've got an alpine shot as well...
Alright Eric! Woohoo!
I think that's the youngest 914 driver (future) ever to have her photo posted to 914club.
Congratulations. Nice healthy weight.
Is Mom doing alright as well.
Give her congratulations smooches from all your 914 friends!
Mom and baby are doing "fantastic" we couldn't have asked for more!
P.S. Mike D... just because it's a few messages down don't go think'n that shirt went un-noticed. Wasn't the "Puffy Shirt" a Seinfeld episode?? As tired as I am today I caught that! Sssplain please...
Congrats. This is a very special time.
Eric, Congrats! Way to go! Get some sleep (you're going to need it).
Here's Half Dome and Full Dome. Great picts 914ers!

Congrats Eric and family!
AWESOME ERIC That is too cool. Baby Shea will be posting to the club site in NO time..LOL
Congrats! Now pass out the cigars
And me at the Autofest the first year they had it.
Pfhat old Phfart with greying hair. A couple of weeks ago.
Harvey... you're front trunk is open.... on the car that is...
I'm the one in the middle
Eric! Awesome! Congrats to you and yours!
Being that you are with those two magazines, do you get to any of the NAMM shows? Let me know - we can hook up for a drink. I usually try to hit the west coast show.
If you are interested, here is what I (we) do...
Again, congrats on the new kiddo
Here's the real me...
a teeny-tiny-teener -neat.
My gang in Newport RI.
I do believe I've been to nearly 50 some NAMM shows... and a brew (or 200) "always" make one go much easier.
See you in Anaheim! Hilton bar Saturday night sometime around 10:00PM? Drinks are on me.
We'll have to mark this time of the year next year for a Alpine Loop 914 Ramble. The colors are ridiculous today. Sundance? All-Star jam? I'm sure a strat will fit in the rear trunk, amp in the front. Bassists will have to come solo, unless your a Steinberg man. The only place I know for a bass is the passengers seat.
Now for a set list...
The carbon Ovation is actually an "Adamas". Client of mine... great group of people!
Mike, you're off the hook. Hilarious!
Speaking of the 80's does "spandex" mean anything to you guys? There's a story there but I'm not telling it! (or showing the pictures)
(like I'm the fashion police or something...)
I recently traded an ovie 12 for a new Takamine G series 12. Almost as sweet a sound as a Martin D-28,
but with a much smaller neck and much easier to fret.
Puddle of mudd
and of course, Dylan. Yes I play the Harmonica too!
Jeroen, chili peppers rock!!!
heya... im the dude at the left helping unload my uncles T...., ill find one with my face lol!
Okay Guitar-playing thread hijackers.... unless you post pictures of yourselves playing a guitar... take your punk ass guitar playing selves elsewhere...
Musicians get no respect!!!! Just women!!!!!!!!!LOL
heres me riding shotgun in the T... this was at the vista CA antique tractor show... a porsche club was there!!! might've seen the elusive porsche tractor...
Spandex? How about some Lycra?
Photo was taken this weekend on the MS150 (150 mile bicycle ride fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis). I'm in the yellow helmet.
My "axe" is a slightly worn 1969 Fender Musicmaster II. I gotta pic of it somewhere around here......honest I do.
Me, the boss and the kids.....
Me and the Old Rocket.....
This is me
I'm not sure if your following this thread.. but can you start a new thread telling us about your pilot experience ??
Harvey... you're front trunk is open.... on the car that is...
I use one of Perry Kiel's Umbrella Covers at work. Setting my briefcase and laptop on the ground before getting the cover out of the front trunk. My personal overhang has been carefully cultivated over the years. Have to do something about that...
hey mike z, is that at the pomona swap? looks familiar
Daughter made page 11...
Thanks again everyone.
Ok, here's my 5 minutes of fame...
Me with the new 2270cc T4 in the Bug (now in the 914)
Me with the better half (fiancee) at the Mall of America, in the Ferris Wheel.
And, I've always liked this pic, it turned out pretty sweet.
The Bug rocks, but I love the 914!
i love those wheels on your bug tom. 4 lug "cosmics" right? or westerns?
Empi 8 spokes.
Tom.. did you stick with the upright fan shroud in the 914 ?? show us....
Congrats on the marriage..
Brad, thanks for the congrats. We are both looking forward to it.
I converted the motor BACK to pancake cooling. LOL. I had to loose the Gene Berg full flow pump cover and system (which is OK, since it's less complexity now) and I had to get a different set of cylinder cover tin due to the fact the 2056 had 2.0L heads and mine has 1.8L Bus heads.
Oh, and I had to drill a hole for a 914 dipstick and block off the 411 Wagon dipstick mount (al la Bus).
I drilled the hole with the motor together
Lots of rags, a big shopvac and lots of worry. No problems though. I used a "Mr. Gasket" oil dipstick for a Chevy 'tree-fity and cut down the dipstick to length, then renotched it for the proper oil level.
Here's left to right
Kevin Powers (rhodyguy), his wife Jean, me (DNHunt) and my wife Betsy
damn it was a beautiful evening (good company too!). sara did a good job. you can't see the half of a broken spoiler on the front of the car . when your s.o. doesn't bust your chops and indulges you your car obsession you're a lucky guy.
ok I've finally got this picture thing licked.
Me and mine at VIR just before I pulled the clutch fork out of the case going into the corner at the end of the back stright!! Also 3 914 cases later we figured out it was a 911 case with 914 gears, reverse pull clutch...go figure.
The crew, I'm the one stuffing my face.
Damnit Karl! I started collecting guitars years before teeners.
I have a 67 orange sparkle Strat, a 51 NoCaster, a 64 candy red Strat assembled the day I was born, a 59 Les Paul Standard, a 57 3 pickup Custom, a 57 Futura made from originally cut factory pieces, a 56 Goldtop, a 54 Goldtop, a 54 Custom with an alnico and a wrap around, a couple early BC Rich Mockingbirds, 18 tube amps, and a closet full of noisy effects.
I have a hash pipe Clapton gave to Hendrix.
(never used it... twice)
I posted this in the other members pic thread but here's me
The ever understanding wife
And the kids
Is that an airedale or welsh terrier?
Airdale, the other one is a German wired hair pointer crossed with a siberian husky
I have an aging welsh terrier, but, I think, when he goes, his replacement will be an airedale (same exact look, only bigger)
Heh, heh....I grew up with an Airdale....dumb as a fence post, but loyal & brave.
A professional bear hunter that the family knew had 2 or 3 that ran with his pack of hounds...."for when the bear came down out of the tree". My old man heard that line and got one....like to kilt every cat in the neighborhood..cept ours, of course A long time ago, now. (gettin' all misty)
Here is me after I broke the 914 last night. Lets just say I was pissed and still am. It was the only piece I had that ran, now I get to cruise in the 1987 full size ford econoline van.
Got any more pics of it?
This is my better half with a very stupid smirk on her face. This is after I converted the MGA to wire wheels. Look great but a total PITA (wheels not the wife).
Ok OK I won't post four thousand pics of my "other car" here. But here is the MGA at a ralley in Columbus sporting her new personalized plate.
Ok, here's us finally:
Looks like a happy couple.
Is the yellow car yours?
I'd say the Silver car is theirs
Nope, mines the silver in the back (wife was designated picture taker while driving so we brought up the rear).
The yellow car is Joseph's - very tough looking with the 911 flairs on the back.
I guess your avatar should have given me a clue.
Really makes a difference does it when you go from an 883 to a 1200. Did you leave the gearing stock? If so, the converted ones are quicker than a factory 1200. When I had my sporty I did mine after about 6K, really appreciated what the cc’s do for you.
I've been all over the map with gearing. Started with the original 48 tooth rear then went to a 56 tooth rear for drag racing (11.90's @ 108 mph). I've gone as high as a 40 tooth but settled on a 44 tooth now-a-days. I've still got my wheelie bars up in the attic. I haven't raced it in about 8 years but still love to turn up the wick on the street. It makes a believer out of some of the ricers, and sounds ten times better. Along with the motor you'll notice Sun aluminum rims (18" rear & 21" front, although I also have a 19" Sun front I used to use for darg racing). Spokes are Buchanan stainless. I got the first S&S big bore kit (actually a prototype along with their prototype intake manifold for the [then] new Evo motor Sportster) and their S&S Super carb. Cams are Gordon Kately (also the first set he ground for the Evo Sportster) and a Dyna ignition module that replaced an XR 1000 Sportster module that finally burned out. There's a lot more I've done but too much to remember after three glasses of red wine tonight.
Me, trying to beat the heat at a DE.
I went to Miss St for a year and had a girlfriend that went to "The W".
I miss her big...
Okay... there are some new folks around lately... keep the thread alive!!!!
Photo of me and son Hugh at the finish of the East Coast Classic in March 02. Strangely, I don't seem to have many photos of myself.
Me at work.
Here's Zoey (our 3 year old daughter)

Dan Gurney (Im in the back seat this time)
Lastly my turn behind the wheel
I posted this pic in the first thread like this (9 months or so ago). It's one of my favorite shots of the "fam".
Gint, tell me more about the boat. I'm even more of a boat nut that I am a 914 nut!
Beats me. It was a day trip from Oxnard out to Anacapa Island. It was http://www.islandpackers.com/summer 2001.
I used to live on a '63 37' aft cabin Chris Craft.
Here's me and the boys happy after the car fired up for the first time in three years (Wife was standing by with a halonix extinguisher, so she's not in the picture )
And here's the wise-ass son #1 that I think will probably be a vegetarian when he gets older
Here's my pics, with my ever so understanding and supportive wife, Tammy :-)

The same little treasure, 13 years later. Still the love of my life.
My passport photo, gotta have one of these to go anywhere I want to go.
one happy 914 guy
a few years old.
I had a dream a couple years ago that I bought that car. It was cheap, like $75,000 or 100,000. I had to sell everything to buy it. So, I had to drive it to work and out and about! I remember driving it on the freeway one cold morning, but loving every minute of it. Teo Fabi was one of my favorite drivers.
My wife of 20+ years and I with two staff members at our company Valentine's Day party 2003.
Of course I'm the least youthful of the lot.

Good to see another Texan here on the BBS. Now..I know that "Stude" truck is lowered in the pick.. but you must be at least 6'7.
Nice shot Bern.. After the few times we have spoken in person.. I would have never guessed your age.

I am from atown in Texas called Nederland, it's an old Dutch settelment, we even have our own windmill, most famous as the birthplace of Tex Ritter.
Me and my racing kart at Donnybrook 1969 (aka BIR)
Great! reinforcements from Minnesooota! I just checked out your car. Black is beautiful!
Rich when do you expect to get your car finished up, you've been holed up in Duluth with snow longer than I.

Hello to all the new faces....
I thought aliens spoke spanish or have I been watching too much SoCal TV?
Rich, heres a Link to W.John Weilgart Phd. aUI
I met him, and I am friends of one of his students, he passed away years ago, but was a very interesting man, he was taught the language from aliens when he was on vacation in Mexico when he was a boy.
Perhaps Egyptian hieroglyphs but it is essentially a priori, meant to comprehensible even by rational alien creatures.java script:emoticon('')
Me on the Western Front with a live shell
Where on the Western Front? Between Phoenix and Mesa?
This was my first post with a picture, trying to figure out how to get it done. I'm in the Somme, and they are still are digging up shells from WW1. Have made 4 trips to Europe and have gone to battle fields from Henry the 2 to the Bulge area. Along the way have stoped Lemans(24hr motorcycle race going on), Spa, Brandshatch.
Cool, I went for the first time to the Netherlands this October. (Met Jeroen) I didn't get a chance to see too much other than the old WW2 concrete boxes that are all over the place. Did make it Arnhem to see the "Bridge Too Far" bridge.
Hope to make it to the Somme this summer....
Geoff, had a change of plans this year, insted of arnham and other battle fields in europe, we did civil war, great trip.
My Mustang ride, 20 years ago, the little one with me is now 22, man does time fly. I am now coming out of the stone age with some help of a fellow firefighter.
This is my wife Cicely who is also part of the 914 scene shes grew up in Indiana and went to school at the University of Pennsylvania where she received her BA in Psychology and her Masters in Elementary Education and decided to stay and be a teacher in NJ which is how we met. She and I dated for almost 7 years after I got out of the Military and were married this past July 5th, 2003. Believe it or not she is learning to weld! Pretty soon she will be welding on her back instead of me...LOL
More wedding photos to follow
And one more
Welcome Kyle The wedding appears to have been awesome. Congrats.
Very cool Kyle...
Looks like a warm place for the wedding, warm places are good.
Welcome Kyle and congrats on the wedding of a very Beautiful Lady
Here is my sweetie.
She's gonna kill me if she sees this.
And no, I don't know why she is wearing a stocking cap on boat.
Ouch, red hair!
If you like Paul, I could send you a wig I wear to bank robberies.
Yea I've been teaching her for the past few months. So far she just welds on flat stock, right now she's just learning how to get a nice even flowing bead. So far so good, as soon as I feel she is ready we will get into the more technical aspects of welding (IE good penetration on seam welds and heat settings.
HELP ME!! My boss said to think inside the box, now I'm stuck in it with Marty Feldman eyes!

Me A couple years ago... I my 914 wont show up on film.
ghost, I've seen your car(356) before. When I had mine, is it on the registry page?
yep- thats my page on the 356 Registry Members Page.
That was an AWESOME car I had, but...I didnt realize...well...that 90% have been hit so friggen hard that us average people can never make them right. Se we take them apart to make them better and just end up burying the damage even deeper.
Anyhow, the 914 should be fun I have plans for it:
I think its a stock 1.8 (eng# EA065268), I'd like to:
( a little paint/interior work first) Then:
1- Add WebCam to match carbs
3-C/W Crank and/or Lightened flywheel...maybe?
I dont really want to put a ton into it, I just want it fun and fairly reliable for a while.
I know a guy who has a 2.7L /6 out of hiw '77 911, 'as removed' from his car w/tranny.
"Let me know when you're ready, I'll make you a deal" he says.
Anyways, I'll yell for help once in a while when I get frustrated.
Here I am!
This is really me here, and that is my distraction from my car.
Me and my girl Jamie--soon to be married
Sweet, a V-Max. They rock. (girlfriend/finance appears to be nice also) Welcome.
Here's me with a couple of my girlfriends:
Sway bar installation without Weltermeister's help.
what front spoiler is that, I like it!
pelican parts GT fiber glass for ~$90. Easy install to stock mounting points. Very low in front. Scraped driveways etc. I will eventually shorten mine an inch or two.
Glamour shot of the car from the Photoshop Monkeys:
Me trying to satisfy the daily dairy requirement of the food pyramid.
Thanks for finding my runaway niece Candi. She ran away just before Chistmas and I have been crazy wondering where she ran off to. please let her know that i'm sorry for trying to sabotage her career in the entertainment industry. let her know I still love her and want her to come back to my Discipline Academy for wayward girls.
Jeg's sells sway bars? And in such a small box! incredible
Here I am with my other checking account drain...
No photoshop here - that's actual size.
it's called the Jeg's "blow up" sway bar.
Kinda like my last girl friend.
I think I had one of those one time.
Hmm, a Ranchero.
I read a story about 5 guys in a cell block at Missouri State Prison pooling their commisary money to buy one. Guards couldn't figure out how it got smuggled in. Now the call it the Blow Me State.
I tried pelican about that spoiler, and they just scratched their heads. Did you buy it a while ago, any other info you could send me would be great. I tried to pm you buy you work filter blocked my email.
email me at
The PO gave it to me when I bought the car. I think Pelican used to carry it, but no more, apparently as the 914 Special Edition. The Performance Parts one is similar, but as you can see, doesn't come down as far, which may be a good thing.
Here is my wife and I on vacation in Maine. I didnt even see one 914. What a wasted vacation
I never cease to be amazed at how good looking the women are who hook up with 914 owners. I was going to put up pictures of all my ex-wives, but the webmaster said they don't have enough room.
I am sure that if they are good looking naked ex-wifes pics Sir Andy will give you the bandwidth!
my ex- put our yellow /6 onto its top at a Riverside DE event; i am reminded of her every time i look at it and start adding up the expense to repair. i hope that's the last time i mention her here.
I have been through this entire topic. I am convinced that I am not the ugliest member of the group. But I'm a shoe in for the semi finals.
it's a good thing you didn't use a good camera, you may have beaten me.
My life story! the picture says a 1000 words. Bringing home the 9146 donor car!

Why yes, I AM busy! but thanks for asking...
Ok, this is me about 10 years ago when my wife and I were only dating and the two kids wern't. I look about the same, but there are some gray hairs in there now.
Is that a police line up shot??
Ha! No, my wife, then GF, had me pose for that. It was taken at the world famouse Rose Test Gardens in SW Portland. There is a rose named Chrysler Imperial, no shit.
So here is me with my bride. 10 years this July 18th!
Okay, finally got my scanner working correctly again.
This is a totally natural and unposed pic of me in an F/A-18E main landing gear bay. Boeing took it for some company mag showing how 'happy' their employees are

Looks like I'm on the late train here! (so what's new really?) - I'm the guy that runs the stagnent http://www.roadglue.com site and the http://www.sonic.net/randyw/fiat124sedan site.
Here I am doing what I like to do when I'm not wrenching on 914s, old Fiats or motorcycles:

Ok so I'm behind the curve as usual(late apexer) but in the spirit of the CCR I have changed my avatar to show a photo of me chopping up a rude suv driver, that is how we handle the situation on the coast....
Well I thought I posted but I checked again and never did...
Its no big deal, its just me. It took me 40 years to learn that I ain't no big deal, now I am grateful to know that much.
This picture was taken at the finish line of the Chicago Marathon, October 2003. It is me earning my spot at the 2005 Boston Marathon. I am number 3894.
Oh hell, I got a few to share. The first is me on halloween (I was Shrek)
I am also a teen mentor for at risk youth (read, child labor. Tiny hands to get at those hard to reach fasteners). Of course I introduced my mentee to my hobby (madness)
Me on my ass trying to stop the hemmorhage of oil from my valve cover on our first Mexico trip. It was smoking something fierce.
And, since we are showing off the hot women in our lives that fortunately for us have bad taste in men, I'll show off mine. Her name is Noel...she is very distracting
Believe it or not I don't have many digi pics of her...I should remedy that.
Ok, this is me with my kids, they all came from different moms, lets not talk about ex-wives, I have too many. Who knows, maybe I will find another one someday. But I am done with having kids, the little man is the last one. He wants the Chalon when he gets older. We will see about that.
Here I am prior to my move to Missouri, roughly 15 years ago, with one of my previous rides:
I thought it was about time to come out of the lurking mode.I really enjoy reading the posts and getting the technical information from this site. This is a picture of me and my friend on my 914 on Memorial Day.
Hello there..Glad you are online with the club.
Hi Y'all I luv white 914's & yers looks really nice....
Yes,DuckRyder, that is a speedster.I also have a couple of tail draggers.I have a passion for Porsches. And with the price of gas,it just ads one more item to long list of reasons to love them. Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!
Yes, welcome to the club, where at in Southeast Missouri are you? I used to live there before I came back out to California. I had a girlfriend down in Nixa and my grandmother lived in Branson. I lived in North KC for a few years.
Southeast would be around Cape, or Dexter...We'll have to all meet up and check out the curves...aahh...roads that is.
Actually,I'm in Iron County, about 70 miles northwest from Cape. All of the roads that lead away from here are great for Porsche cars, lots of curves and beautiful scenery.
Ever drive around the Taum Sauk (spelling?) mountain area? We go camping down there ever so often. It would be great in a 914, but pretty much sucks in a conversion van hauling a pop-up.
We have another 914 driver that lives down in Caladonia (spelling, again), screen name "eresener".
Yes,I live about 8 miles from Taum Sauk.I can't even imagine driving a van and camper on these roads!I am so used to sitting low and hugging the curves that I feel too high even in a regular car.
Yea, I do know 'eresener'.I am the car painter he has talked about in one of his posts.
I saw your post about Tweeks.I am going to go. It's a great time and you get a lot of great free stuff! They have technical seminars that are very helpful and deals on parts, and of course, lots of Porsches to look at.You will not be disappointed.
Welcome to the club....finally....
I'm being EATEN by my hungry 914!

Me & my 'kid'
I won't over do the posting pictures thang, but thought I should share a 'post-HSDE commemorative' picture that I had taken with my brother. He's the one in black
nice pics, love the avatar also. Looks you and your brother are bike riders too. Seems to be a lot of that in the 914 world, cool.
Here's a picture of me with my lovely wife Betty and HER 914. This was taken about a year ago last April on the Bluebonnett tour to Austin.

Winter in Iraqi sandstorm...this picture is around 2:00pm in the day.
... new to the forum. I'm shy. Not ready to 'face' other 914 owners yet!
Sandee!! You finally found a teener. Guess my white one wasn't nice enough for yah huh? Make sure you bring your purple people eater to the next NNJRPCA concours. Sounds like a nice car you got. Local too. Welcome.
Tod914! Yes, finally! And NO - actually had my heart set on white (black or yellow or red or something) ... you're car was a bit TOO nice! Got a good deal on this one, nice guy from Clifton ... now, I'm loving this Marathon Blue Metallic - very classy, I think.
I live right up the street ... you're welcome to take a ride over anytime! Off Maple ... email me (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Sandee nice car, I saw that one on bird board, looked REALLY nice and priced extremely well. I'm sure you will love it.
Sandee...nice wheels!! The color will grow on you. I want a silver, white or marathon blue teener!
I wanted to do a color change on my silver car to that Marathon blue. I was convinced out of it. But mark my words, I will have a marathon blue 914. Oh yes.
Still no pics of my ugly mug, but here's my crew.
Looks like I'm buying another teener, but I'm keeping this one for the girls. Thats Leigha (18 mths), Abby (7) and Erin (9). When I was reviving the car, Erin could not ask enough Q's or learn enough to be satisfied. Out there handing me tools and getting dirty. Ab's loves to help wash her and keep the car clean. Liegha, well, she REALLY loves to just be in the car.
A very unflattering pic , but here goes :
Tom, I recognize that car...did the previous owner drive it to Walton Hall a couple of years back? It has a custom exhaust with stub pipes on the exhaust ports? Twin webers also...he reckoned it was trés rapid. I remember the seats and the sunroof. ( I think)
WOW !!! that Yellow is EXQUISIT Nice car Tom
I guess it's about time I posted to this thread.. Here's a pic of me and my lovely wife Julie, at our wedding.
Here are the wedding arrival and departure cars: (the 914 belongs to jkeyzer, who is in the previous pic) The Rolls Royce belongs to my dad. The MGB is mine.
oops, here's the pic:
We got married under my senior project at Cal Poly, which is in the beautiful Poly Canyon. (I swear I didn't plan it out that way... I was single when we started the project!)

Bondo...you must be an architect...me too. U of O 1985.
Where are your plans after school?
im beginning my career as a civil engineer at Cal Poly Pomona....

I think he actually goes into Temecula. Alot of tanned pinky-lifters there.
maybe this will work
Well, in following Bondo's lead (that of having been on here a long time and not posting a picture), here I am with my wife Jesica. We were toasting Christmas Eve in Argentina (she's Argentine) last year and it was probably 90 degrees. It's really wierd having Christmas in the summer!
How kelw is this board? Where eles could you get a guy to come over on Sunday and help you work on yer partz car for ?
I am the goof ball grinnin, and shane shisler (red914) is the guy under the car. Oh yeah, it was 80 degrees and he was wearing full coveralls!

We've got a couple guys running those westerns. Look pretty good.
Welcome to da club Cabrio
BTW I was kinda partial to that wooden bumper in the first pic.
Love the new color GUD job Man!!!
Thanks all for the welcome...This has been an ongoing project for the past 10 years! infact I have owned this car since 1984. drove it till 1994 and then elected to do a ground up restoration. Well a move overseas and 2 kids later with a return to Florida, slowed me down a bit...Plus my other car and wife is a strong distraction. But I promis to have the 14er running again! See the images at... http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/546651 and http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/567932
here i am... last day of high school....
i guess ill post one of me too...
here is me dreaming
Here's one of me and my other addiction. I'm the orginal owner. She's a 1980 FXWG, 1600cc, twin plugged, single fire. I do all the work, except engine lower end. Wore out 4 engines, on #5. I also do the paint, leather, etc.
This is me at the poker table...
Sure, remember 24 years, suffering from CRS. 1st, 80k+miles stock, 2nd 60k+ miles, Stoked to 86ci, 3rd,4th, 40k+ miles, bored and stroked to 96ci, ported, radical cam, twin plugged, single fire ignition. Too make it short, the rocker boxes are the only parts of the original engine left. And she will fly, mirrows flatten at 110 mph, cheeks start fluttering at 130 mph. last dyno run, 82hp at rear wheel, you pay for horsepower. Pretty good for a old shovel.
Any other questions?
I wanted to add myself, but couldn't find what I was looking for so I bumped it to keep from another surch.
This as close as I get to a TV. Whats that I'm reading, musta been haven FI probs
Woohoo! Thanks admins for giving me my Props back!

Monique and I at Lato, Crete. I was wearing my 914club hat too but took it off for the pic..Damn it was hot !
Here is an updated look for me. Notice the red eyes and worn out look. The moustache and Goatee are new to me. I have never grown one before and wanted to test out the look. This was taken very early in the morning on very little sleep. Do I really look that bad? I wonder if I can get a face lift?
Heading up Highway 1 out of Big Sur Last week.
If I don't cut my hair I'll have a mullet.

Wow Scott. That goatee completely changes you.
Makes you look older too.
But its not bad, just will take some getting use to.

I had to get this pic because of the name of the village we were passing - my name is Wolfgang
Wow! You mean there are 914's that run in Europe. Been to Holland, Germany twice in the last year and never saw a running one.
Cool pics, maybe I'll swing by to see you guys next summer.
yeah, I'll have to visit the German and Austrian guys to see a running 914 cuz the Dutch guys are too cheap to actually have a running 914.
It will be in the spring/summer on the way to Spain.
Wonder if there is any 914's in Spain?
Here's me and my wife from '98 before were were married, and married with children. Yes, I'm lucky! I've since given up the bus windshield glasses though.

sorry for posting soo much...I am bored...
hey man, what ever happened when you were late last week?
In case you're wondering... I moved Mer's dating ...
found it in the Recycle Bin ...
At least put Mer's picture back up.
Yeah, the date thread was getting tired. We're done with that. Oh, but swood's picture was in there, so it will need to be reposted.
Andy, your subtle wording astounds me...
And WOW, what's the silver car?! Pretty little monster.
the car is actually a Dutch car, it's a Spyker Spyder T, with a 4.2 liter twin turbo Audi V8 producing 525 Bhp.
And I must confess it's not mine but I guess that's kinda obvious. These cars cost about $300 000
I had the possibility to visit the factory, it was nice, and that's a large understatement
if you want to see some more :
one more picture, me enjoying the interior from up close
I deleted it. I got tired of it.
That wouldda been weak...
But I know you didn't because you can't edit my posts
isn't Spyker a more than 50 years old car factory, reactivated for LeMans racing?
Guess I've seen a story about the old ones in german TV more than a year ago.
Anyway, cool car
Yep, they just "bought" the name. Marketing stunt to acquire history and a "vintage" feel
Meredith did delete it. You can see it in the moderator logs.
Ok... back to the REAL topic of this thread then please...
Maybe we need a nailed "Long Rambling thread to nowhere" A thread where we can just BS and change the topic to anything that comes along... "The never ending thread." Let's all sing the Never Ending Thread Song!

yeah....they are. Have you seen the budwieser commercials though trying to carry the keg into the stadium? Yeah I would haveta walk up two-three flights of stairs carrying that shit. It's not MY collection. I just thought it was impressive. the ppl around here do NYQuil.....it's sad i know....and depending on the place and if there is a sale, NyQuil is cheaper than a keg!

Felix, the exchange air is pulled out of the trunk via a small section of (re shaped) 911 engine grille mtl., which lives just in the vortec created under the rear of the wing. This jpeg may shed some idea of what goes on here...

Love those french taillights, where did you get them?
Bleyseng, Frenchies are avail all thru Europe at just about any P car dealer. Maybe canada (?) pn 914.631.947.12 (L) and 914.631.948.12 ® Since the wraparound amber now becomes your rear "Side" d-o-t marker light...some PD's say it needs to be red (like USA). I stuck a small piece of red-transparent gift wrap paper there, and its held on for many years ! No probs with the Po-pos
I brought back a hellalotof these in Frankfurt and gave them out to friends a few years ago, rather inexpensive gifts. Then I had some shipped and they all needed gluing as the transit f--- them up
Gotta love the French for the lichtscheibe !

Picture yourself walking down to the pier and taking a left in the alley just before you get to the strand, right behind that mom and pop mexican place. Or if you remember where the comedy and magic club is, it's at the end of the parking lot at the strand. This is so cool, I gre up hanging out around there.

When I was new
Hrm, guess this thread works for introductions. Long time 'teener owner here. My '73 has been in the family since, well, 1973! Of course back then I was riding on the center cushion. It's been mine since 1985 or so, but a particularly hard year in 1986 finally made me park it to find something I didn't have to work on while I was in college. Since then, career, wife, kids, all that stuff has stood between me and driving my 'teener. One of these days...
Anyway, you don't wanna see a pic of the car. And the only one of me I can find is this one from a weekend trip to Eureka Springs...
And a pic of my daily driver, which I bought new in 1989. Gee, I have a thing about keeping cars a long time...
Anyway, hopefully this place'll help me get more motivated. Cheers!
Hello, I'm Britt's girlfriend. For those of you who were wondering if I exist, I'm here to testify that Britt wasn't imagining things...not this time anyway! I'm the one who gets to start the car while Britt messes with somethin in the back when we break down on the side of the interstate...but I still love the car.

I guess I should have said "our non-club's very own Zoey"
She's not technically *my* Zoey. She's Jeroen and Christy's. She's a cutie though, I agree.

Sorry I couldn't find one with one of my cars, but I worked on this one quite a bit too. Well, mainly kept it clean, but whatever. Some of you may recognize the two gentlemen in the background. One of the best engineers in the business and one of the best drivers. Lethal combination.
The hottie didn't speak a lick of english. Man was she perfect!
This was Halloween of this year! I went as a Jedi. It rocked. My mom made the costume.

Right Smart looking dog you got there ... One of my uncles back in PA had an Airedale ... cool dog

In the teener:
They're actually made by Personal (of steering wheel fame - Italian made) and are datestamped '72 just like the car. I had no idea that Personal sold alloy wheels before I bought this car... Oh, they're 14x6s btw...
PS - Wouldn't you agree that they look remarkably like Porsche's latest (987 - 997) style of alloy wheel?
They really do. Maybe that is where the design idea came from? I like them.
What a trip Hydra, bet you don't see many other teeners running around.
My dad (not much of a car guy) tells me that there were plenty of teeners about back in the day. This guy I know once showed me a polaroid of 15 914s he owned, some were literally stacked atop one another! But yeah, teeners are all but extinct here now...
Me and my wife Elinor at a friends Christmas party this year.

Guess which one is me? Hint: I am NOT the legend!
Small world -
My entire family (less my now immediate family) has been in Orange "proper" since 1910. We all went to St Johns (from both of my grandparents families to my current nieces and nephews). Walker Hall was built and donated by my great grand parents. My grandmothers childhood home is still there and is used as office building (retirement home?) on the north side of Chapman (two big lion statues out front). She now lives on Palm. My uncles CPA firm is just east of the old Snack Shop on Shaffer. My grandfather was the president of the bank on the Orange circle for 35 years (then the douchbags turned it into a cheesy mall) I still have a 10' section of the marble counter from the bank in my garage, and I am sitting in my grandfathers desk chair as I write this.
Our family names were Schroeder and Walker - and now some Leightfuss. The old-time families in that circle included the Amlings, the Bosch's, the Boezingers to name a few. The Schroeder Gallery on the north end of the circle (about a block from Chapman College) is owned by my aunt and uncle. Being a car guy, you may be familiar with Orange Engine on Glassell - for 30 years, that was my uncle Rich. Obviously Randy Ema's Duesenberg resto shop is right there two - he drove my grandmother to her last b-day party in a restored Cord that was identical to the one her father drove. Great guy.
My childhood was spent between Villa Park and Newport. We bailed out of there in 1982. I still get back to see grandmother everyother year - she just turned 96.
Not the best picture, but getting "Moby" ready for my first ever AX run with him, plus first AX run with a 3.0L /6

Oh No!.. Kayaker Scum on the board!
You know it! Proud to be a tupperware tyrant! lol
Driving a classic car never worries me. I put myself in more danger when I get where I am going than I do on the way there. This is me...this is me hanging from the railing on top of a nuclear cooling tower.
Used to look like...
That looks like a good future MUSR suggestion site IMHO.
914's, twisties and white water rafting make great memories.
Ever do the Nantahala near Bryson City NC in a raft or a canoe? Whoopee
Celebrating the removal of the engine a few years ago. A new and improved version is now back in the car.
Cool, never done the nanty in a raft or canoe, but I've done it many times in my playboat. The NOC playwave down below the falls is alot of fun too. I comtemplated running Worser wesser ( the monster below the NOC wave) but didn't have my creekboat, or enough beer to talk myself into it. One day though...lol
Almost in the over 50 club but still have the hair! Dead Sexy!
Me and my project
nice to see those younger than the object of our affections (the 914, of course) succumbing to the addiction!
in no way am i condoning a lack of safety gear.
with my awesome better half, who's totally green lighted my 914 project
oh yeah, the car...
This is how we go "Yakin' " in MO. My Bro-in-law and myself getting ready to launch. My yak (the green/yellow one) has a built-in 100w motorcycle stereo (uses a SD card with 480 songs), soft cooler under the front cowl with a 16 "beverage" capacity , and a 1/2 gal. coleman jug in the back just in case 16 isn't enough to make it down a 6 mile float trip.....didn't need to crack the jug . Just fwd of the back hatch the bullet speakers are visible. The rest of our friends, and other "floaters".
Just noticed the date on my camera was never set...this was actually Labor Day '10, what a blast!
i'm the 5th one from the left going from far left to right.
Eddie Sanchez and me. Eddie is an excellent VW mechanic that has helped me with the last 3 914-6 projects I've done. He was gracious enough to let me keep my car there for a year as we figured out the logistics of getting the 3.6 liter engine to work, the cooling, the wiring, the new fuel and brake lines, transmission, etc... He is a good sport and a true craftsman. I don't know, however, if he will be willing to do another build with me after all the time this one took away from his life and I wouldn't blame him! I just can't thank him enough.
Me at Streets of Willow, Oct 2010:

Do you work for the MTA Scotty?
Using Google SpetchUp, I needed a texture, what did I get... the best photo of my home that I have ever seen.
I zoomed in a little and found myself working on the car.
Should I be scared?
What were you doing there, Mike? ... looks like you're drilling some holes in the door.
That's why I like having the garage at the back of the house - no prying eyes checking out my s#it
Looks like Bob Fleming's red 911 ?
Sorry, but you asked for it. Now you know the reason for the tag. My son asked me to help weld up a go cart almost 20 years ago. The steering wheel is in the background.

This is me (Ty) and my youngest son, Tripp (4 years old). Each of my three boys love riding in the 914 (being the parent that drives the 12, 10, & 4 year olds around, it was not a very practical car to get). LOL
Of course it's practical....
You get to drive them around three times as much. You will get more mileage behind the wheel if you have another kid!
Yellow is nice.
Me. Not much else to say.
Hello, I'm using this thread to introduce myself (Car related matters on another page / thread).
I live in The Netherlands, 275 (German Autobahn!)miles from Stuttgart. Age, closer to 60 than 50..., married, two boys. Other interests: sailing, using petrol powered machinery for my garden.
Current stable (cars): BMW 3 Series, our daily driver; VW Up -not sold in the USA- a small in-town car. Classics: 1970 Saab 96 that I bought from the first owner in Sweden, 1959 Triumph TR3A totally restored over a 10 yr period.
Picture: taken last month on a breezy morning on North Captive FL.
Welcome Menno. I don't see a 914 in your stable. I take it you are in the market. Good luck, you came to the right place for research.
Don't feel bad ... I'm 60 and have to push the seat all the way forward to reach the pedals
This is me driving my 75 914 1.8 daily driver, back when I was 18.
That doesnt look like Florida

Thanks for adding me to your cool website!
Here's many of the Black Forest gang:
Left to right:
John Crusoe, owner/driver of the black #44 914-6
Sylvia, John's better half
One of John C's grandkids, sorry I forget his name ;-)
Cody Forbes (me!) in the middle with the white shirt
Wesley Forbes, my son
Leah Gray, my fiance whom handles the office duties here at BFR
Donna North, John Forbes' girlfriend
And last but not least, George, our apprentice whom is headed off to Porsche factory training school in October.
[Sorry, double post]
I'm new to the group. Greetings to all other 914 owners.
I hope nobody wants to burn me at the stake for converting my 914 to an all-electric vehicle. It's been my daily driver for the last couple of years. I can go about 40 miles on 80 cents worth of electricity.
Getting it to move is not the problem. Getting it to stop can be exciting at times as I've added 660 pounds to the vehicle. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to augment the brakes?
I'm also in the market for LED headlights. Every watt counts and I'm a distance junkie. The ones I've seen online are pretty pricy and I'm open to suggestion.
Thanks for letting me in your group.
New to this forum but not new to Porsches or indeed 914's
... from the neighbourhood (globaly speaking )
are you Helen from DDK ...?

Here's me - on a good day!
beauty and the beast, of course I am the beauty on the left, lol.
From the Hot tub Time machine; Mattylight at age 4 , assisting in the re-assembly of Dad's black six, just back from the paint shop. Our first Father+ Son build ! Next stop; Cover car shot for European Car, circa 1995
A few years back ... prepping the 'BB's banana for new paint ...
Finally a 914 owner after many trying years as a lowly 993 owner...
Sold the 993 to align some finances towards other things and I immediately had sellers regret... But I always wanted a 914... so without hesitation, I picked up my 73 2.0 from a local buddy who needed to raise the cash to finish an RSR clone project and now I'm content until I cant stand it any longer and I end up doing a 6-swap.
Anyway...me... and me and wifey...

Most of the family.
Missing the golden doodle, the cat, the tortoise, the corn snake, the bearded dragon, and several fish.
My oldest working on our father-son project on a balmy summer day in Phoenix. It was 115+
Looks like you're wrenching seven days a week ?
I'm on top of Mt. Scott. OK, with my LE wannabe. It was a tired but well preserved '76 when I got it. Since the engine build and predate bumpers and paint, I've added 40K+ miles to it. My wife thinks I should get a Cayman....Nah!...
And this is on a good day.
Hello folks! [attachmentid=620651]

Curt Nelson aka Greenie and myself at the 2018 WCR in Newberg, OR
Rode in the green car for the third time at a WCR event; this year we drove out to The Schooner at Netarts Bay
Got a little rain on the way out, top was in the trunk....
Great fun, thanks Curt
Well I couldn't find a good photo of me with the 914 that anyone could actually see what I look like. So I am posting 2 pics. This should be sufficient to scare everyone.
I know, not a 914 but at least it is a P car.
Me, a bit of signal orange in the background.
That's me standing behind the 'BB' between G e o r g e ... and Lawrence (Larmo63)
And Ron on the far right.
I worked in video from the late '70's through the mid '90s (my side job). We have a few other video guys on this forum, cameramen, editors, etc. ...
What's the device that looks like a small binoculars?
Me & my incredible family, daughter-in-law on left.....
Action photo from Parade at French Lick. Starting to miss that 914-6!
Me and my wife.
in younger years, and more recent:
see how many of you old farts recognize me!
I was afraid to scroll down
This was taken a few years ago on a cruise. Most of you that know me realize that is not how I normally look. I usually have greasy hands, wild hair, and a stupid, 914 induced grin on my face.
Hi, thats me last weekend 2020.08.01 during a nice drive through the countryside north of Frankfurt/Germany with my ´71 914-4.
@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=24260 great photo!
