I used a set of Buick Park-Ave hinges. It does open and close and the fit is perfect. Still have to work out the stops, guides and latch.
Speed brake?

He's cloning the 964/993 rear air deflector idea...
That idea will never work on paper...
Is that a drag chute stowed in the trunk?
Thumbs up !!!
I have been tinkering with that idea for a long time. General thought was to use a BMW type hinge, but I always thought it would hold the open trunk too high. The GM hinges seem to put the panel lower and more behind the rear bumper. The more centerd mounting position of the hinges to the trunk lid is a very secure place that can only help it having a smooth opperation.
F**king fantastic job

Thats a sweet motor hidding under there. The latch is going to be the hard part.I see you will need to incorporate a latch for the engine lid aswell
