Could a Type 1 VW motor bolt right up to a 901 with no adapter?

Any reason for the diff flywheel? Application is an electric motor adapter plate that is designed for type 1 trannys.

i know the 4 bolts from case to tanny are in the same points.....

whats the OD of a vw flywheel? 914?

not sure what is required on the clutch side of things
