The darn rear trunk wouldn't stay latched. It turned out that latch was worn. To be more exact the long hard thing that goes in the hole wouldn't stay in. When it was young it never had that problem.

I added material
and ground it to the right shape

It stays in like a young stud and the trunk stays latched

Most cars today won't see things like this happen, they'll just be tossed away.
