A local 911 guy offered me the complete engine out of a 935 yesterday. It has everything, fuel system, turbo, headers, etc.
It's from a real 935. I have seen the car and the engine. (sorry.. no picts.)
2500.00.
It would be a hoot in my /6.......
But I love the MFI I have........
How come so cheap? I would think an original #s 935 motor would be worth like $75-$100K.
Don't ask me....But I have been warned that the guy is a bit on the nutty side.
It's an ealry non-intercooled 935 engine.
I am thinking of buying the motor even if I don't install it in my car.
DUH!!!!!
Does he have two?
I want one
KT
934 motor? or 935?
935 were bi turbo and flat fan...
single turbo 934 IIRC....
Its got to be a delayed April 1st joke right.
I would have to say pass. I just called Delta, I can fit that in an overhead storage bin. Dallas/Ft.Worth here I come.
Yeah, I know you say you don't have any. Get out there and take them as you pick up the engine. Don't delay a minute and let the guy change his mind. Even a few parts off of the engine should be worth the price.
If you don't buy it for that price... Even just to flip it...
YOUR NuTs...!!!!!!!!!!

935
934
OK.. my bad... It's a 934 motor. It is out of a factory slope nose car with a single turbo and no intercooler.
Here's the pict he has of it when he had it rebuilt years ago. Its the only one he sent me.
Attached image(s)
If your STILL debating it...send ME his contact information and "I" will buy it....
sounds like a 930S car...
not a 934 / 935
Agreed... 930 turbo.
Does he have the 4 speed that goes with it???
the reason i ask is... If ya get the 4 speed.
You can launch the car out of first. (flip tranny & add cooler)
Yup... dragster 914...... that handles..!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first gears in those tranny's actually live doing burn outs... (for a while anyway)
Back in the day. Many of my friends would leave rubber forever with the 930..
Rarely did they break a tranny.
And you can retrofit the turbo to a newer style for much faster spool up and peak power.
And you CAN add a intercooler. And bump boost.
(gotta tweak fuel distribution)
Fuchit... make a scary 914...
Why?.............Cause that would be cool.
For some unknown reason that makes no monetary sense.
Thats why you should DO IT...!!!!!!!!!
And because I can't..!!!
And it would be on your dime.
And maybe i could bum a ride someday....
OK...OK... I am just trying to live vicariously through others......

That pic is of a non-intercooled 930 engine.
It probably is a 3.0.
My 1983 has the intercooler, so it is earlier than that.
Does it run, or is it blown up?
the case alone is worth 2500. if it has a six bolt flywheel you can run a 66mm early 911 crankshaft,
no mods the latest shortstroke/ bigbore craze .
The early 3.0L case is a good thing to have......real gud. You can put a 66mm crank in there if that rings your bell.
I know this isnt a race motor, but as a rule of thumb I would never turn down a killer deal on a factory race motor simply for the fact that you can tear it apart and document everything just to learn for yourself.
Bettys car could use a 6
like others said, that's not a 935 motor, it's an early 930
the second car Aaron posted ain't no 934, it's an RSR turbo
this is a 934
From what I heard, those 3.0 turbo's are real nervous f-ers... no go off boost, and then when the boost kicks in
Personally, I wouldn't put it in my 914 but still... $2500 is not a bad deal, so if you can spare it, grab it (you can always sell it for more )
Just buy it and talk to marty about what to do with it. It's only 2500, like others said, it's worth more than that in parts. Good luck.
Well I can help get it to your house if you get it.
