A few more steps completed on my way to final paint!

I stripped the underside to bare metal, primed with metal etch and then used a product from U-pol for undercoating. It's actually a urethane based bedliner material and has a little sound deadening quality to it. Best part is I think it will outlast fossil fuels before it ever rusts again!

wow, that looks very nice! do you have the exact name of the product you use to undercoat it?? I am sure that paint was expensive to!

Last one for now. Next comes a final coat of primer on fenders and final sanding, then the last of the damn painting!! (sorry. I hate painting!)

Can't wait till paint is done so I can start playing with nuts and bolts again.....I'm growing tired of sand paper and lacquer thinner.

The liner product is called "Raptor" from U-pol. I purchased it from the supply house I get my paints from, but I've seen it on e-bay. It goes about 100 bucks for a kit with applicator gun (shutz gun). I used two kits with a quart left over. As far as paint $$, yup it's expensive. I'm using Glasurit product and it's nice stuff. Really nice high build easy sanding primer and the silver and clear seem easy to work with. I do need to get a slower reducer though, it's got a little orange peal to it.

How you say, show finish! Very nice job and wish I could do that but am just getting one detailed for painting. I wanna do one from the tub up some day. I don't think it gets better than what your doing there.

Great pics and ALOT of effort....

It's amazing how much time is spent cutting, welding, filling, sanding before the paint is finally applied. I go by the 90/10 rule, 90% of my time is spent on 10% of the project, then 10% of my time is spent on 90% of the project, ie, putting the stuff back together....

Yup.....it's a Wevo 915. Its got the Wevo bearing retainer plate, gate shift, all new syncros, bearings, etc and a factory limited slip. Hopefully it will hold up a while??

It used to have an oil cooler/pump and spray bars in the tranny, but that got deleted with the Wevo conversion work.............but that's another story!
