I'm installing an MSD electronic ignition and was reading that it isn't good to have the ignition turned on, but the engine not running. If I'm doing some electrical diagnoising, ie, trying to get the rear lights to work correctly, I would not start the engine. So, what have others done to disconnect the MSD ignition from power to work on other electrical problems?
Also, I've hard wired the electrical fuel pump, that I moved to the front of the car. What kind of disconnect should I use on this?
Pictures and/or descriptions would be greatly appreciated.

If you used a relay and a dedicated fuse on the fuel pump (which you should redo if you haven't), just pull the fuse or one of the relay wires. On the ignition, just pull the wire off the coil (the + wire) to disable it.
