I don't understand how a wheel with the same width and offset can have a different backspacing??? confused24.gif I thought offset was (width - backspacing)/2.

7 x 16 23.3mm 112mm 911.362.115.00
7 x 16 23.3mm 138mm 951.362.115.00(944)

shoot... i used to know the 951 wheel vs 911 7 wheel question

the 951 was different to fit big ol brakes.....had recessed lug holes too....

wierd.

offset is centerline of wheel to mounting face. (can be + or -)
backspacing is inner lip to mounting face

the only way for the offset to be the same with a different backspace would be the thickness of the lip on the rim.....normal thickness is about 3/8" to 1/2"....I doubt the 944 rim has a 1.5" thick lip smile.gif

I think someone goofed............

Anyone have some info about fuchs sizes? I need to know which 16 x7 fuchs are available. For a squareback project. The stock wheels are 5.5" wide and have 114 backspacing so a 13 mm offset. I need something similar or bigger (I don't mind spacers). I will be running 205/55/16 whitewalls on it.

Exactly Aaron. If the offset is the same and the width is the same, the centerline is the same and so how can the backspacing be different? unsure.gif

read my reply....backspacing can be varied due to the thickness of the rim lip....you can have 2 7" wide rims, one could be an overall width of 7.5" (outside to outside) with the other one 8" wide....someone messed up, the 8" wide 951 rim should have that 138 backspace....
