have heard tell you can test an mps using a hand held vacuum. anyone else?

Tis true. Needs to hold 15 for 5 minutes.

how do you hook it up? any diagrams, drawings, pie charts?

You don't need a diagram. Pull the MPS hose off the plenum and stick the vacuum tip into the end of it. Pump it to 15. Watch the dial to see how fast it drops.

yup, pretty simple just hook up a hose to it and "pump it up"!

and if the mps fails check your gauge....plug the hose and make sure its not the tester leaking down

Geoff.....have one in my stock that is going to another member. Ever heard of one that holds 20" with no leakdown for 15 minutes? Pulled 20" and let it sit on my desk overnight....in the AM it was still holding 5".

Maybe I should keep it laugh.gif

That's very unusual - Can't be good. Mine holds 15 for a few seconds like most. I'll trade you straight across.
