I'd advise you to set up paypal for this now and only take payment as promise to buy. Too many group buys end with 100 guys saying yes and 5 coming up with the money.

Posted by: watsonrx13 Jun 29 2006, 09:23 AM

Eric, I'm in for 1 set. I don't have a paypal account, but can mail you a check....

I'm just going to get at least 10 together and run it buy the seller. Me no make any money off this deal. Me no want to handle any money off this deal.

It's Ron's contact "Bruce" from the fiatparts.com thingy BTW. Called him, nice guy, he suggested we could get a quantity break for... 10 sets. So, away we go.

Posted by: cobra94563 Jun 29 2006, 09:33 AM

I'd be in for a set..Let me know shipping and paypal ID.

I'm in for 2 sets.

Posted by: seanery Jun 29 2006, 09:40 AM

It should be the plastic pull...leather was 911RS.

I think a set will be much cheaper including shipping costs and
customs duty than $18 mueba.gif

Wilco

Posted by: Eric_Shea Jun 29 2006, 09:58 AM

Go for it then...

Just for a heads up, that's $4.50 per pair, plus duties and freight. Maybe Mr. Wilco, with his thread hijack can take the orders and work on the shipping from his end. wink.gif

Wilco, do you want to take the group buy and run with it? confused24.gif

Let us know. Maybe you could do some freight calculations and let everyone know the final amount?

Thanks,

E.

Posted by: RON S. Jun 29 2006, 10:24 AM

Eric,

I think I'm gonna go see my leatherman, and get him to quote me making about 50pairs of the leather pulls complete with the male & female snaps.

They'll be made, 24" long. That'll give about 3" of trim material.

I think the final length was about 21-1/4" total.

Posted by: maddeye Jun 29 2006, 12:36 PM

i would be in for a set of each.

Posted by: Eric_Shea Jun 29 2006, 03:04 PM

Ron, I'd be way into the leather and the bezels.

Posted by: smdubovsky Jun 29 2006, 05:10 PM

I'll take a pair.

I'd be interested in a full kit as well...

It looks like shipping from the fiat500126 site is ~$20-25 to the US for 1kg. I cant imagine that 2 dz door handle would weigh much more than that. That comes out to ~$6/pr. Anyone interested in giving that route a try instead? I could ship them out if folks are interested.

Posted by: Eric_Shea Oct 3 2006, 11:01 AM

Basically ready to roll. Was waiting for Jeroen to get back with me on a European connection. I was hoping to get the cost down a bit more.

Also, haven't heard from Ron lately on the new version of the grommet.

I can wrap it up as soon as they weigh in.

I just saw this thread. I would like one set as well. Also intersted in bezels if/when available as well. I didn't see any mention on how to pay. I can do Paypal as well as other methods. smile.gif

Posted by: Eric_Shea Oct 5 2006, 05:08 PM

This group buy was intended for the Fiat 500/600 handles. Ron is making the bezels and has the leather straps. I have spoken to Ron about having them on my site for the sake of convenience and the possibility of kits. I have also spoken with James about having complete replica door panels made up. I can't speak for either Ron or James but it all sounded positive. We will keep you informed through this thread. Once these hit the states, we may have kits available but no guarantees.

I have been in contact with the supplier and we had an issue yesterday with the credit card and the overseas purchase. Hopefully they will have this ironed out and everything will ship tomorrow. I expect delivery in 2-3 weeks at the latest.

If you want to be in on the buy we have 8 sets left as of this writing. Add your name to the thread and I'll add it to the list.

I'm still in for two set of the door handles and have asked if Ron or whom ever can fab a complete doof panel -I'm in too for that also.

Just as long as the door panels don't cost two arma a one leg.

Thanks for heading this up!

Thanks Eric for going out of you’re way to make the order form usable for us Canadians. I just ordered two sets. I would also like a set of the bezel and straps when they become available.

Gary,
I did mine with a set of riv-nuts.See the pic.

You can get a cheap rivnut kit at Harbor-Freight for about 15 bucks.

Use the 10-24 inserts.then just mark it all out,and get it done.

Pic is kinda blurry, but you'll get the idea.

Check the "Attn: Eric Shea" thread started yesterday by Jim (Stratplayer)... Powdercoating is done and we should meet up with it today. Packages should be ready to go Monday.

Yes, Rob got your loot. I thought your handles went out... no? You would definately have them by now if they did.

For others... Let me get through the bezel and strap buys and we'll see if there are any handles left over. There are people who are waiting on pedal assemblies (Jason) and hubs (Chris?) that have handles... also, circus boy just got his wink.gif For our friendly Canadians... I've been waiting until I get everything together so we can save on freight etc. I'll let you know if we have any extras. Handles looks a bit tight right now. Straps and bezels should be fine. If I need to order more handles I can. I might be able to get a buy together with James... confused24.gif

All the little baggies have been filled with goodies for good little boys and girls.

For the Bezels and straps I'll simply post a link here:

It's late so I'll probably go through the list and send the PM's (as I did on the last buy) tomorrow.

Thanks to all for your patience on this group buy. It's been a good one. wink.gif

I have not yet sent money, because I am under the impression that the amount for shipping to Canada (surface mail) is still to be confirmed. Please let me know if the amount still holds ($8.50) and if you still have me on the list of purchasers.

Thank you.

Good day Eric, I have a question. I have just sent pay pal for the straps, etc. My question is. I realize that you have been holding on to the Canadian order to ship everything all at once and I thank you for doing that, however I have now paid three times for shipping. Twice for two door pulls and now for the straps etc. Will you be refunding some of those shipping costs to me? Again thanks for putting this together. It’s going to be a great project.

QUOTE(Aaron Cox @ Dec 5 2006, 03:45 PM) *

Aaron,

See the attached pic.

I first removed all existing latch hardware. Then drilled an access hole for the Phillips screwdriver near the latch pull.I drilled mine about 1/2" dia.then had to file some more cause I was off a little bit.

Then lower the edge of the hole the strap goes thru by a good 1/4" or more cause if not it'll rub if you don't.

Screw the grommetted end to the door frame with the 10-24 screws and fender washer.Thread the other end thru the access hole up to the latch and put a mark on the strap as to where to place the second attaching hole.I made a hole in the leather with a scratch awl,(ice pick). That'll keep the hole tight enough to hold the 4-40 screw w/o falling off when you thread that end thru to the mech.pull lever on the door frame.
