Nice looking parts....not sure about the choice of leaving them in the house smile.gif

"Look daddy...I can bounce really high when I jump on these" LOL

Posted by: echocanyons Feb 26 2003, 01:46 PM

Jeroen,

Looks good.

I got a couple of valences from them about a year ago good prices and good products.

Posted by: Jeroen Feb 26 2003, 01:48 PM

don't worry... the wife "kindly" asked me to move the parts to the garage rolleyes.gif

cheers,

Jeroen

They look pretty good from here. I like the fact that it is the entire fender and not just the GT flare.

Doesnt it get cold there ?? Wood floors ?? They look nice, but they have been selling carpet here for years.. clap56.gif

I looked at their parts list and they have listed a "914 bridge wing"
What is that?
Paul

Posted by: SirAndy Feb 26 2003, 03:02 PM

like the left part on this 911 wing. on the 914 it sits on the end of the
back hood, going from left to right. kind looks like a bridge ...

I tried the link--"Error: Access Denied"

We must have used up his bandwidth allocation for the day. It was working fine earlier.

Here is a link to the Google cache of their 914 parts page:

It worked earlier but I am now too getting the same
"acess denied" screen

Posted by: Mike T Feb 26 2003, 05:19 PM

Nice stuff. I bought the Ginther style windscreen in fiberglass from them and it's a nice piece.

I've seen the flares listed in 7", 9" and 11" there but didn't reealize they sold full fenders. Is it something new?

Mike T.

Posted by: Brad Roberts Feb 26 2003, 05:51 PM

Jeroen,

Do you think Rennspeed is making this stuff ?? I have a funny feeling they are a "parts broker" for somebody else.

B

Posted by: Jeroen Feb 26 2003, 06:04 PM

I don't know if he makes this or just sells...

The reason I bought from him is that he was willing to make the effort to send 'em across the pond

I know there's others who make/sell these fenders, I think I've contacted them all
Only 2 or 3 were willing to ship it to me, but they gave me a quote on shipping charges in the $700 region... yeah, well thanks, but no thanks!

RennSpeed send 'em to my (by air) for only $195

cheers,

Jeroen

BTW,
I bought my "stock" fiberglass front fenders from Tweeks. The label on them said they were made by,

American Custom Industies, Inc.
5035 Alexin Road
Sylania OH 43560
419-882-2091

(Andy, I know the name is "American Custom Ind." so you may not want to buy from them.) biggrin.gif

Wow those fenders do look nice, Jeroen. How is the rust battle going?
BTW are the wood floors Jatoba? (Brazilian Cherry)? I have a friend who ships that wood to Holland from Suriname.
Geoff clap56.gif

Posted by: Jeroen Feb 26 2003, 07:36 PM

Off topic...

Hey Geoff,
Yep, that's Jatoba wood

Brad / Andy,
Our house is pretty old. It's from 1910, so the floors are still made of wood, but what you see in the pic is only a 'fancy' surface
The rest of the house is build from brick
The PO pretty much rebuild the entire house though

cheers,

Jeroen

Posted by: URY914 Feb 26 2003, 07:44 PM

OH MY GOD!
I have Corvette fenders on my 914!!!

Andy, I'm coming over to your side, I now hate America!!

Posted by: seanery Mar 5 2003, 08:18 PM

Jeroen,

I think I'm gonna bit the bullet and buy the same ones you got next month.
What size are the flares 7 & 9?

Are you still happy a couple days later?

thanks,
sean

Posted by: Jeroen Mar 5 2003, 08:26 PM

Hey Seanery,

I removed the left front fender yesterday, just to see if the f/g one would line up
It's very good and I think it'll only need some very minor work

I've placed the other f/g ones over the car and they look to be a perfect match of the originals as well, no warping etc.

I've got a possible buyer coming over this weekend for the steel flares

cheers,

Jeroen

Jereon a verdor at the pcmona swap meet had a set of fenders and hood that looked like yours. Wanted $900.00 for the set.

Bernie aktion035.gif

Posted by: Jeroen Mar 5 2003, 08:45 PM

If that includes both front and rear hood, it sounds like a good price...
I paid $325 for the pair of fronts and $350 for the rears
Hoods go for about $250 each IIRC

cheers,

Jeroen

I bought an RS front bumper from them....8 on a 1-10 scale....the fitment was a little to be desired.....

BTW.....I am banned at two Hotels in Austria.....something about excessive alcohol, colored Zinka in my beard, skiing in shorts and getting irritated at locals trying to cut in line at the ski slopes.....

Hey Ya_roon dude....rumor has it you be coming over?

Posted by: Jeroen Mar 6 2003, 05:49 AM

Hey Zois,

There must have been something else to get you banned from these hotels...
If they ban people for what you've listed, all hotels would be pretty much empty over the skiing season biggrin.gif

Yep, I'm flying in on wednesday march 19th and leaving mon. the 24th
But looking at Brad's "tour scedule" I might need to add another week biggrin.gif

cheers,

Jeroen

Hey, sounds good !! Dont forget to check that they really do have rust free cars there. I still have doubts about that tongue.gif

And be careful. They will ask stupid question in airports. Like, what you are going to do there and who you are going to meet. They also want to know what you eat and what you dont. They hopes that if some terrorists comes they would tell them in the customs that they are terrorists and they have came to do horrible things...... cool_shades.gif

Totally off-topic.

Yo Brad,

I thought you had more taste than that. Carpet? Ewwww.

Hardwood floors with lots of throw-rugs rock!

Jeroen, I was with a REAL conservative crowd. I had asked my fiance' to marry me on a side trip to Venice....we were partying HARD. Drinking Gluwein in the morning, dressing in outrageous California style outfits and did I mention we were also drinking....?

We also MAY Have had some "extras" from the Amsterdam side trip..... rolleyes.gif

It was a fun trip....I just pissed off the midget/little hitleresque concierge with my antics. Coulda been when I "mooned" him while leaving for the slopes one morning :finger2: .

Posted by: Jeroen Mar 6 2003, 06:38 PM

Well, the mooning part explains it!
Not that the concept is new, but I've seen your pics laugh.gif

cheers,

Jeroen

Posted by: seanery May 27 2003, 08:49 PM

Jeroen,

Are these on the car yet?

Details, pics, thoughts?

Posted by: seanery Feb 21 2004, 09:53 PM

Well,
I just ordered mine. I've heard good and bad, but since they are for a race car I went for it.

I ordered:
front flared fenders
rear flared quarters
flared rocker covers
GT Front Bumper
Rear Bumper
GT Front Valence

$1530 delivered. That seemed like a good price to me.
I'll get the Front & Rear trunks and door skins next.

Posted by: McMark Feb 21 2004, 10:06 PM

I'll have front and rear trunks in FG or Carbon F on my dream car.

wink.gif

Posted by: Jeroen Feb 22 2004, 06:20 PM

Hey Sean,

Keep us posted when they arrive...

cheers,

Jeroen

Posted by: seanery Feb 22 2004, 07:20 PM

I'm gonna need a lot of help. I want them to be removable, so I want to use Dzus or some other quick release. I'm gonna order doors and hoods in a couple days, too. I want the doors to work like the GT3 RS doors in Blake Rosser's car. the door latch mechanism works, but the fronts are hung with pins and remove very easily when open.

He says I should get them in a couple days. If they show up Thursday, that'll be the one year anniversary of yours arriving.

Posted by: r_towle Feb 22 2004, 09:34 PM

I have removable front and rear fenders...
The Dzus fasteners on the rear work very nice and it looks perfect...the fronts were a bit of a hack job by the PO, they work but look poorly done and will be replaced.

I will take some close pics if you need for the rears...you dont need to see the fronts on my car,,,someone else will chime in with a better job.

Rich

Posted by: seanery Feb 22 2004, 10:54 PM

rich,
I'd love to see both front & rear if you don't mind. Sometimes seeing what not to do helps to figure out what to do.

Posted by: Jeroen Feb 23 2004, 06:10 AM

Ditto on the pics!

Actually, I was thinking about making "lift out doors" too
As far as I could see, it would only work if you take off the front fender first
And the hinges need to be modified...

cheers,

Jeroen

Posted by: jonwatts Feb 23 2004, 11:21 AM

Has anyone seen the RennSpeed hoods in person or have any comments on their work in general? I'm shopping.

thanks

Posted by: seanery Mar 1 2004, 12:37 PM

My parts arrived about 30 minutes ago.
They seem pretty nice, looks like quite a bit of trimming to do on the rocker covers, but everything seems decent so far. My bumpers DID have the brakets glassed in.

pics later.
