I don't know where to start and the car is so modified I wondering if anyone here can help me anyways.

For some reson the tach is dropping to 0 when I start heading north of 5500 rpm. It's a little un-nerving when your in 5th heading into a turn, especialy since I don't have a working speedometer to begin with.

Think I'm about ready to take this car up to Racer Chris to look at.

If it is working fine up to 5500 RPM's and than dropping out my guess would be

a bad tach. R & R tach, find a good used one.
