God I love the classics. I just adjusted my valves today for the first time and let me tell you the Cap'ns way is the only way. I had a VW type 1 before and adjusting valves sucked even with an indexed flywheel. Man 30 minutes and I was done.
Just made me want to say THANK YOU
to
The Cap'n, Jim Thorusen, DDD, and others who wrote the article.
I am sure that I will be thanking many others in the near future as well, but had to let them know personaly.
Also doesn't it feel good to pour fresh oil in after adjusting your valves and know that you are doing your engine right
gets me kinda misty
I gotta go before my keybord shocks me
The Cap'n is the only source for:
Quality Info
Quality RTV and
Quality SS Braided Brake Lines!
God Save the Cap'n
(forgot turbo T4 motors)
Man, look at Eric ....
Aside from all the
I too used the Cap'n valve adjustment and found it easy and fast to do.
I have never worked on a T4 before and was happy to see that it worked the first time just fine.
Thanks Cap'n
Darn, Eric beat me to it.
Best thing about crusty is that he has a passion for these cars, he gets heated up about them and shows it in his discussions, but doesn't loose his sense of humor. As long as he can take a ribbing once in a while he's OK in my book.
i buy my K&N filters from the cap'n too!
K&N filter, didn't the captain say that running an air filter on a type 4 was a waste of time and that these engines don't need filters at all?
Maybe I misunderstood him
