914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rear trunk lid shocks

Posted by: Rand Aug 11 2006, 05:20 PM

Was walking around the local pull-a-part and had an "oh yeah, I should..." thought when I saw a hatch back open... I need to get some shocks for my rear trunk lid!

So tested a few hatchbacks for the shock strength... most were shot. Then found a strong set.

So I go back to the office and ask how much. $3.50 each. Score!! Had to cut and weld some mounts to fit, but it was an easy job. Nice to throw away the broomstick trunk holder upper! smile.gif

Should be installed with the rod section pointing down.

Just finished a design using one for work. This keeps the seal lubricated.
