Ron says I post too many pictures so I guess I have a rep now.....
Anyways... last weekend was another vintage race.
most of the same old cars, but it was a grand time anyways.
I feel pretty good about it.
my lap times aren't as good as I'd hoped, but I'm doing better in traffic and really had a good weekend from that perspective. (lots of successful passes without giving up much)
In the first sunday race, I had qualified way back in 15th and managed to move up to 7th...
Here are pics of bunches of cars that were not in run class... but were still fun:

Here was a fun car.

There were 5 1967S cars there...
some with stock S motors and some with much more:

This car was surprisingly fast....
its only a 1.8, but we were dead even on the straight and even with my new gearing I couldn't pull him even an inch down the straight:

This car was kinda my goal for the weekend.
I've beat him in lap time before, but I've never beat him in finishing position until now.....

In the final and feature race... Here are the only cars that I didn't pass:
(there was another sports racer that I can't find the picture of)

the 4 sports racers were put into my race...
and here are the production based cars that I couldn't catch:

Over all I felt pretty good about the weekend.

I love the early TVRs...saw one just like that this weekend with a 289 in it. Thing must fly...
Brant,
Very cool pics. The Mclaren and the associated red transport rig ect, is from the shop I frequent here in boulder. That's the Mclaren I called you about 6 months ago or so, when they had the open house.
here's the pic I took of it then...

Ferg,
I knew it was your guy.
he has some dang nice cars!

Great Pictures!
How did that Elan do? They are typically pretty fast right out of the box and with a good driver watch out.
So many beautiful cars. What a weekend.
The elan was about 1.5 seconds a lap faster than me.
I believe that car is actually a 26R, one of the factory racecar elans.
its an amazing car. The doors are pinned from the outside, as you would normally see hoods done, because they are literally just a shell.
but he started having problems on sunday and was running about 3 seconds a lap off of his saturday times.
So I actually beat him in the first sunday race and I think he dropped out in the feature.
amazing car though!

Some friends invited me to a car show and I turned it down. This reminds me why. You go to any race track and you see these amazing cars that are never gonna be at a car show.
I would much rather look at this stuff all day.
If you have time to take all of those pictures, you car's not breaking enough!
LOL.
Looks like you had a great weekend.
