Ok, all you people with money (if you don't have any ignore this). Glenn & I have come to the agreement to schedule the next installment of the G & R All 914 Rusty Parts Swap Meet and Animal Flesh Roasting Festival on October 29, 2006.
As usual, we will be cooking Bugers (self picked or we will supply) & Smoked Turd Steak (straight from the bowels of jalapeno fed animals) along with deep fried greased & salted Tubers ( potato chips to the unknowing), Tuber w/ pickled cucumber, onion & sauce (otherwise known as potato salad), maybe fried dough w/sugar and liquid caffine in the AM. Imbidements will be limited to clear & brown colored sugar water.
A "donation" of $5.00 per person is graciously accepted if you want to chew ( otherwise, go suck an egg ).
A schedule of events will be posted if I ever deem it interesting enough to do so.
Tijuana style swap meet will begin at 8 AM ...... yes, that's AM not PM ... no need to bring a flashlight (unless you plan on laying on your back and looking up kilts and skirts) to spot parts and then find out in the sunlight that they are rusted beyond repair. Gates will be open approximatly 6:30 AM for you vicious vendors.
Animal Flesh Roasting Festival will begin somewhere around 10 AM or when I damn well decide to light the burners.
The whole thing will be over when we get tired of hearing your recycled tales of 914 heroism.
The place is as last year 2727 Kansas Ave, Riverside, CA 92507 .... if you weren't here last year, Ill get around to posting directions and phone contact numbers someday. If you are able to find it without help...you win a prize....HOWIE will blow you a kiss.
Oh, one last thing ..... We would appreciate it if you males bring female companions as we get real tired of looking a your ugly mugs and besides they smell better and eat less.

For some reason people are still drinking coffee at 8:30 pm.
We're currently accepting applications for donut duty and looking for an "award" to hand out to the person who travels the furthest to attend. Anyone have a spare rusted out battery tray?
I'm gonna try to get that sunday off.
Skliney's going? Shweet! Would be great if you did attend
Recieved a phone call from Bruce Stone .... wanted to know where this thread disappeared to. If any of the Admins would like to stick it, please do so.
His further comment is that he would like to know what parts people may be looking for so he doesn't bring a bunch of stuff that he has to haul back. Well folks, you can add your requests here I suppose.
So, it is now bumped back to the top for a while as he told some newbies about the swap and they were looking for the thread.
Directions / contact numbers to the party will be disclosed at a later date.

Ok, that's about it and I will add this to the original post.

-Roger
Hey! You're in America now. Speak Spanish.

*BUMP*
Talked to my boss this week about the B-B-Q.
Any chance we can give some sort of repair away in raffle form?
Carb tuning + Oil Change + Valve Adjust maybe?
I'll ask him again this week, I think he might be showing up too.
bring him to joes BBQ also
Hey Brando, Jay is welcome to offer up a certificate for a free mini tune-up, oil change or whatever. Not sure how we'd conduct the raffle though. Better yet, maybe we could sell raffle tickets & donate the money to charity. Thoughts/ideas on this are welcome. Jay did show up for the last swap....
I'm not going to make it to this one.
Hopefully you guys can find a way to have fun without me.
Hey-
someone mentioned earlier about starting a WTB list for the garage sale. This thread seems a little long to search through for vendors to watch a WTB list, can we start one somewhere else that's more visible?
Anyway- here goes my list.
*Tan interior parts (seat cushions and carpet pieces)
*Right rear tailight lense
*right front parking light lense (little round one)
*4 Michelin tires, hopefully between 185-205 and in ok shape (other brands considered as well)
*fiberglass bumperettes (top parts front and rear)- or original bumper tops in good shape at decent price
*fuel line hoses- new
*brake lines, stainless or rubber- newish
*rubber seals, especially for under door
*chrome 914 number thing for trunk
*trunk lock tumbler
*rear wheel bearings
*bushings- all sorts (sway bar, ect.)
*rear trunk carpet
*new firewall padding stuff, aftermarket
*passenger side stainless steel mirror (could use drivers side if need be)
*chrome front bumper, doesn't need to be concourse, just decently priced
Ok, well I may not be able to afford all of this all at once, but I doubt I will find it all at the same time either. PM me to talk.
highways,
I'm sure someone will have a parts car for sale for you.
Anyone bringing a set of front fiberglass flares? How about 8" - 15" fuchs or one of those sheridan rear spoilers?
I will have the following For Sale:
1.) 1974 2.0L ... El Weisze Bandito .... Runs strong, but smokes on deaccel (guides).
2.) 1970 2.4L CIS /6 Conversion ... The Brown Turd ... will run after I change the flywheel as the starter ate the ring gear.
3.) 2.5L 4 cyl Type 4 motor with Weber 44's. Hasn't been run in several years.
4.) 2.1L 4 cyl Type 4 race motor ... long block ... don't ask what's in it 'cause I don't know
5.) 1973.5 2.4L CIS 911 motor complete
6.) 1968 2.0L "T" motor ... long block ... no flywheel
7.) Pair of Weber 40IDA3C with manifolds, linkage and air cleaners off '68 "T"
8.) 2.0L Type 4 with complete FI. Removed from '74 as it is trying to drop a valve.
9.) Anything else that has to do with 914s or 911s that I have in my possession.
I'm buying a Honda .............
Should i bring a park picnic bench in trade... you can use it as a wing on the honduh
BJH

Well, it's a tough call, but won't be able to make it this year. We'll be in the south of France and Monaco. Try not to miss me too much.
I'm coming. I have lots of parts to sell. I also have 2 2.0 engines, one assembled and of unkown condition from a 912E and the other was freshly rebuilt but had a cam/lifter meltdown within 100 miles (nice fresh 2.0 heads). I will bring them if there is any interest. Otherwise, I have tons of 914 stuff (distributors, MAPs, injection stuff, glass, etc).
Look forward to seeing everyone again!
