914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Oil cooler venting on a 914 6

Posted by: Heeltoe914 Sep 21 2006, 11:54 PM

Seems to work well. I vented out of the fender. If I still need exit air I can add a little Turbo fan. But 210 temp puching 4500rpms for 10 min up hill in 4th is good for me.
My car is a euro car and did not have rubber plugs to push out in front, So I only cut open three plugs from the front section.

Are you running a thermostat?

I was already to install mine and opened the box and the dumb asses sent me a -10AN thermostat....I have all -12AN stuff......SHIT!!!!

I was thinking that since it warms up so qucikly that I could get away w/o one.....

Yes I run the Throutman that has a real 911 type thermostat.

You can but the stat is a much safer way to go.

I really like the venting location. Subtle, and I would expect at least as effective as holes on the inner wall of the fender well.

Can we see a pic of the front?

Where did you route the oil lines?
