914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Excessive Crud when Changing Oil

Just changed my oil after 2,000 miles and there is a lot of crud in the screen and catch trap - what could this mean? I just had the motor out and changed a bunch of seals and - it just occurred to me that it may be the return tube sealer and other gasket sealer I used - possibility? That, or the oil I am using is really a detergent oil and it is cleaning it out?

Could be. My 2.0 T4 had what looked like worms at the first oil change after rebuild. Turned out it was the ooze-out of the case sealant. Saw a reference to it as "normal" in a 911 rebuild manual.

Can't figure out what kind of sealant you put on your return tubes that would do that though.
