914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Vague shifting?

Posted by: michaelt55 Oct 4 2006, 09:54 AM

Next question..the 73 I have is sorta sloppy shifting in all general areas, esp the 2nd to 3rd route. Is this normal for the 914 or is it a bushing issue or bent shifter rod? My experience is in the VW areas..

start with the easy stuff - Linkage and Bushings
2 to 3 isn't a usual suspect in shifting problems

pelican has a good article about this
